Posted August 18, 201411 yr comment_5620112 Cowboy Ron Bass & Charlie Cook vs. "Bad Bad" Leroy Brown & "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (2/9/83) Fun start to the match with the faces taking it to the heels including a spot where Bass stomped on JJ Dillon's hand as he had it in the ring pounding the mat. Cook works FIP here and the heels work him over with power moves before Bass gets the hot tag and runs wild but he gets thrown to the floor. Cook comes back in and eats a big double-team move where Brown has him in the Canadian Backbreaker while Mosca comes off the top rope with a strike which prompted a DQ. Southern Heavyweight Title: Lex Luger © vs. Bad News Allen (1/6/87) For some reason Luger loved wearing a white tanktop during his matches at this time in his career. Allen dominates Luger from the start and uses a steel chair on him on the floor but Bill Alfonso lets it go before Luger comes back choking Allen with the camera cord. Allen still would maintain the advantage though working over Luger back in the ring and it was funny hearing Buddy Colt call him the "Ultimate Warrior" while on commentary. Luger makes a comeback where he rips off his tanktop which got the girlie pop and he had News reeling then went after Humperdink but he would miss a running shoulder smash into the corner and News covered him with his feet on the ropes to win the match but the decision would be later reversed. Luger was still green especially working as a babyface but he was decent here. Next we get a promo from Sullivan from Continental about returning to Florida to get Luger followed up by another Sullivan promo this time from Hawaii. Mike Graham vs. Jerry Grey (1/20/87) This was JIP. Then we get live Coach's Corner with Bad News Allen who is now the Florida Champion and they show clips of News' babyface turn where he would get robbed of some money by Humperdink then his interference in a Luger/Sullivan cage match where he locked Humperdink in the cage. Humperdink then comes out and gets in News' face which leads to Sullivan & Mr. Kareem Muhammad running out and busting News open with a steel chair. News is stretchered out and he cuts a promo from the stretcher covered in blood which was cool. This is good stuff and extra material. Next we get a regular Coach's Corner with Bad News where he narrates the whole angle with Sullivan & Humperdink. Then we get a promo from Humperdink threatening the incoming Adrian Street. This is followed up by another promo from Sullivan in Hawaii. Next we get a promo from Wild Bill Irwin after a squash demanding that Dutch Mantell come out which he does and they get into a verbal altercation before TV time runs out. (2/6/85) Ravishing Rick Rude vs. Scotty Williams (2/13/85) Total squash with Pez Whatley doing commentary with Rude calling Pez to the ring afterwards and he does prompting a brawl where Pez hits a cross body block and counts his own 3 count while wearing a suit. Rude & Pringle are pissed afterwards. Dirty Dutch Mantell vs. Jack Hart (2/13/85) Hart cuts a promo before the match wanting to be called "The Stretcher" and whines about his losing streak. I always loved when Horowitz did the schtick of where he got some moves he started strutting around like a peacock and he does it here while Dutch just looks at him. This had some good back and forth action with Dutch winning after a diving elbow smash. Then we get a promo from Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts about their upcoming matches with The Assassin & The Missing Link which is followed up by promos from Ric Flair, The Saint, & Brian Blair. Next we get a video for Brian Blair set to You Dropped Da Bomb On Me by The Gap Band. Good stuff. This is followed by Rude & Pringle back out talking about the Whatley angle from earlier. Then we get a promo from all of The Freebirds about their battles with Pringle and his army with clips of a match between the Birds vs. Link & Saint. Wild Bill Irwin vs. Scotty Williams (2/13/85) Brian Blair jumps in the ring and attacks Irwin which brings out Jesse Barr for a brawl followed up by Dutch Mantell who makes the save. This is followed up by a promo with Blair & Dutch with clips of Barr beating Blair for the Florida Title being shown. Next we get the end of a Missing Link squash where Terry Gordy comes out wanting Link to battle him which he eventually does with Gordy running him off. PIstol Pez Whatley vs. Jack Hart (2/13/85) Jack cuts yet another whiny promo about losing every match before he goes up against Pez. This had some decent back and forth action with Pez getting the win off an O'Connor Roll. Rude comes out next with Pringle where he makes fun of Jack Hart and says that Whatley beats nobodies. Michael Hayes vs. Jack Hart (2/20/85) Hart is out before this match talking about stretching and hooking Hayes which is hilarious. This was another entertaining Hart match as even though he lost every match he would take it to all of his opponents. The Birds come out for a promo afterwards about Pringle's Army. Pistol Pez Whatley vs. Scotty Williams (2/20/85) Rude is on commentary and Pez invites Rude to join him after the match which he does and we have another impromptu battle between the two men and with Pez catching Rude again with a cross body block but this time off the top rope for another 3 count. Next we get a promo from Jesse Barr & Bill Irwin about their battles with Brian Blair & Dutch Mantell. Pringle comes out next pissed about the Whatley/Rude deal from earlier and then talks about the Freebirds & Youngbloods which brings out Jack Hart who promises to get rid of Gordy for Percy but Gordy comes out and slaps Percy hard in the face before entering the ring. Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy vs. Jack Hart (2/20/85) Gordy has Hart ready to get pinned but Missing Link runs out and attacks Gordy for the DQ but Gordy sends him packing. Hart then jumps Gordy as he yelling at Link but Gordy comes back and puts him out with Bill Alfonso making the count anyway. Gordy then picks up Hart like a sack of potatoes and drops him in the heel locker room. Buddy Roberts vs. Koko Ware (2/20/85) Now this is a cool singles matchup and this was a fun little match with both men looking good but TV time wound run out before the finish. Then we get a taped promo from The Assassins where Assassin #1 is pissed with Assassin #2 for losing too much so he destroys him in the locker room and rips his mask off. I loved this because I love The Assassin so much and this is a definite extra. (2/27/85) Next we get the end of a Terry Gordy squash and a promo with him & Buddy about Pringle but Gordy has to get ready to leave on a plane so Buddy is by himself which you should know what happens next. The PYT's jump Roberts then followed up by the Link and they beat the hell out of Buddy until Gordy runs out with only one boot on then the Assassin & Rude show up with Assassin using a loaded mask and it is a total beatdown until Blair, Whatley, & Youngbloods make the save. Fun angle and extra material. Then we get a promo from the Youngbloods upset about losing their US Tag Titles to the PYT's with clips of how it happened. Next we get a promo from Pringle's Dynasty and Jesse Barr about the show in Miami on 3/6/85. The Freebirds cut a retort promo with Roberts having the great line talking about how he loves the last name Barr because he loves hanging out in them while Gordy talks about slapping Pringle's mother.
