The Assassin vs. Mr. Kareem Muhammad (12/25/84)

David Crockett calls this a main event anywhere in the world yeah okay. Always a hoot to see babyface Assassin and he wants a piece of Paul Jones as he chases him around the ring. Assassin threw some great punches here and was spirited as hell before Jones would run in for the DQ. Assassin had Jones dead to rights until The Barbarian made his debut in JCP attacking Assassin.

Next we get promos from Bass, Bart, Dillon, SBG, & Jones for the 2/5 show in Philadelphia.

Bunkhouse Match: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater, & Ricky Steamboat vs. Tully Blanchard & The Long Riders (Ron Bass & Black Bart) (12/25/84)

Slater comes out wearing this huge cowboy hat and the war is on as soon as they hit the ring. Magnum shows up and puts a rope around Dillon to keep him at bay. The fans are molten hot here as the faces just tee off on the heels with Tully juicing first. We get the great spot where the heels chunk chairs in the ring so the faces can sit down on them to gloat. The heels would finally isolate Dusty & Steamer in the ring and they returned the beatdown with everyone bleeding now pretty much. TV time ran out as the faces were making their comeback which sucks. Slam dunk extra.

The next show starts out with Dusty & Manny accepting the challenge from the Road Warriors for a shot at their NWA tag titles which is followed up by the champs commenting over clips from a Roadies squash. (1/2/85)

Tully comes out next and talks about how he is looking for his Perfect 10 and wants the women to send in their pictures. Definite extra. (1/2/85)

Paul Jones is out next and he narrates over clips of SBG vs. Adias from 12/25/84.

Dusty is out next and he narrates over clips of Kernodle vs. Ivan from 12/25/84. Dusty is great here delivering a patriotic speech that Bill Watts would be proud of. Definite extra.

Next we get a promo from Dillon for the Philly show on 2/5.

Dusty then comes out with $10,000 worth of silver dollars that he was going to put up against Tully for his $10,000 for the NWA World TV Title winner takes all. (1/16/85)

Then we get Buzz Tyler coming out with clips of Black Bart ripping up a special sweatshirt that Buzz owned and he was pissed about it. This is a funny promo for the wrong reasons. (1/16/85)

Inferno #1 vs. "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater (1/16/85)

Slater has a bounty on his head thanks to JJ Dillon so as Slater is wrestling David & Tony are joined by Dillon's special bounty hunter in Terry Funk making an extremely rare JCP appearance. Once Dillon confirmed to Terry that the money was in the bank they make their way to the ring so Slater chunks Inferno over the top rope and demands Terry come in the ring. Bass & Bart then run out and it's 3-on-1 on Slater until the babyface locker room cleans out to make the save. Definite extra.

Next we get the reveal of Tully's Perfect 10 in a video that sees Tully pull to the airport in a limo meeting Baby Doll who is still in her Nicola Roberts leather gimmick from World Class while Looks That Kill by Motley Crue is blasting. Slam dunk extra. (1/16/85)

David is with the Koloffs next with Nikita holding the NWA World Six-Man Tag Titles trophy as Krusher Khruschev has made his way to the area with clips of Steamer getting jumped by Nikita.

Full-Nelson Challenge: Superstar Billy Graham vs. Starship Eagle (1/16/85)

Eagle is Danny Spivey and he must break the hold in 30 seconds to win $1,000 which he doesn't do.

Then we get promos from Backlund & Steamer for the 2/5 show in Philly.

Funk then comes back out with Dillon talking about how he wrestles for no one but himself and says that he is there to take out Slater, "the steroid freak" Steamer, & "egg sucking dog" Dusty. Great stuff from Terry. Extra material.

Tully then is out with David and this is Baby Doll's debut on TV as Tully talks about Dusty & Steamer. Extra material. (1/16/85)

Dillon is out with David with a letter in his hand sent by Ox Baker saying that he is coming for Slater. (1/23/85)

The Barbarian & Superstar Billy Graham vs. American Starship (Coyote & Eagle) (1/23/85)

So hilarious seeing Scott Hall working as Starship Coyote. Hall & Spivey were big and extremely green but they got a minor push. This wasn't very good.

Mike Davis & Tommy Lane are out with David and they tell David Crockett that they are retiring from pro wrestling which meant they were heading to Georgia to become the Rock n Roll RPM's. (1/23/85)

Dick Slater is out next with David talking about the bounty on his head and said that he would have be killed for them to succeed. (1/23/85)

Next we get clips of Don Kernodle & Keith Larsen vs. Ben Alexander & Doug Vines with the Koloffs running out to destroy Larsen then going after Don and the Russian Flag but Don fights them off by himself with a passion trying to keep the flag. Magnum & Steamer then run out to grab the flag and they join Kernodle in the ring as the Koloffs back down. (1/30/85)

Magnum, Steamer, & Kernodle then cut a promo about Wahoo then the change in Kernodle's life and the war against the Russians. Kernodle was really great in this role as the patriotic hero. (1/30/85)

Dillon is out with David to start the next show talking yet again about the bounty on Slater with clips of his match against Ox Baker from Charlotte on 2/3/85. Dillon said that he must now find a classic wrestler to stretch Slater and he has brought Dory Funk Jr. back to the area.

Then we get promos from Tully, Dillon, & Wahoo for the 2/28 show in Philly.

Next we get Tully & Baby Doll out to talk about a match with Dusty on 2/3/85 where they went to a draw then Baby Doll attacked Dusty who took it but yelled at her.

Then we get a promo from Flair about his match with Sgt. Slaughter on 2/28 in Philly where Flair rips all the Philly sports teams which is hilarious.

Flag Match: "Pride of the USA" Don Kernodle & Ricky Steamboat vs. Ivan & Nikita Koloff (2/6/85)

The faces are dominant early here taking it to the Russians especially Ivan who is solid at bumping and selling for them. Nikita even takes some punishment as well as the crowd is molten hot for everything. The tide would soon turn though as the Russians worked over Kernodle's injured neck. Kernodle is wearing a collar here and gets brutalized but he shows great fight here and the fans extremely behind him trying to get the hot tag. Steamer finally had enough and jumped in the ring where a 4-way brawl ensued where they sent Nikita to the floor and then they hit Ivan with the clothesline off the top rope like the Koloffs used to win the match. This was damn good stuff and is a fairly easy nomination.

Next we get a promo from Slaughter about being happy to be back wrestling on the East Coast again talking about how he thought he deserved a shot at a world title so he had to go somewhere where he could get a world title shot. Extra material. (2/6/85)

Kernodle & Steamer then come out still hyped up from their earlier match saying that the war is far from over.

Then we get a promo from Kernodle who was with Bob Caudle saying that he was going to bring someone in to help him against the Russians which brings out Nikita & Krusher who attacks him.
