Posted October 18, 200519 yr comment_3697278 I was turned on to a group called The Faint earlier this year and listened to a few songs I really loved, but didn't bother seeking out the rest of their collection. I've now listened to their catalog and have yet to find a song I don't like. What an awesome band! I'd describe the sound as kind of new wave meets goth, but in much cooler fashion than some groups like The Killers and The Bravery that are big right now, if only because the whole act isn't toned down nearly as much. This is really the direction I wish modern rock music would move in. Brandon Flowers even has a Morrisey-esque mentality in the media. The Bravery are The Strokes jamming with AFI, no more, no less. The Faint come across to me as Joy Division, the next generation.
