Posted September 20, 201411 yr comment_5626746 This starts with a promo from Arn & Ole about their feud with Bull & T-Bolt and the current status of the National Tag Titles. (4/13/85) Dusty is out next talking about all the families in JCP right now and says that his family right now is Buzz Sawyer & Jimmy Valiant and they will take on anyone. Dusty is great here. (4/13/85) Budro & Dillon are out next talking about wanting Magnum TA and the US Title. (4/13/85) "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer (4/13/85) Ivan complaining about Buzz's furry boots is great. Pretty fun start with hard chops by Buzz and random biting until Buzz rams his shoulder into the ringpost giving Ivan the opening he needed to work him over. Ivan is vicious working over the arm even with Buzz biting him on the leg but Buzz would hit a desperation powerslam for a nearfall. Buzz used that moment to regain control and would get a nearfall off a suplex before going to a grounded bearhug which turned into a belly-to-belly when they got on their feet. Buzz would continue to work the bearhug after that both standing and on the mat in between nearfalls off of a press slam, butterfly suplex, and a gutwrench suplex. Nikita was really upset at ringside during all of this and you wondered when he would make his move. Buzz would sling Ivan accidentally into referee Mike Fever then got an O'Connor Roll on Ivan which brought out Jimmy Valiant to make the count. Nikita then entered the ring along with Krusher and it was 3-on-1 on Valiant until Dusty & Buzz made the save. Very fun studio match and I'll pass this forward as a low-end nomination. Michael Hayes is out next saying that the Russians ain't the 6-man champs until they meet the Freebirds. Hayes then says that Flair gets his women from Stewart Avenue (which is a fucking great line because at that time in the ATL and even now Stewart Avenue now known as International Avenue was home to many strip clubs and hookers.) This is the Hayes I love as a babyface reppin the ATL spoutin out Skynyrd lyrics. Extra material. Dusty, Valiant, & Buzz are out next talking about their family and their war against the Russians. This is awesome. Bull & T-Bolt then come out and talk about their battles with the Andersons. The Barbarian & Superstar Billy Graham vs. Jim & Mac Jeffers (4/13/85) The future Mod Squad get destroyed here as Abdullah the Butcher makes his debut at ringside with Paul Jones. Next we get the Russians who are pissed off at Dusty and his family for interfering in their business and they talk about a future NWA World Six-Man Tag Titles match. Pistol Pez Whatley vs. Vernon Deaton (4/13/85) Easy win for Pez. Andersons then come back out for another promo on Bull & T-Bolt. Tully is out next with Baby Doll talking about getting his TV Title back and he calls the fans illiterate which is hilarious. Then we get David & Krusher narrating some of Magnum's quickest wins as well as talking about Ric Flair while narrating a match of his against Chick Donovan which is a good Flair vs. lowcarder match. NWA World TV Title: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes © vs. Tully Blanchard (3/23/85) David & Krusher are doing commentary for this. This starts out slow with lots of hemming and hawwing from Tully and Dusty getting all his schtick in. Then they said that the will show the rest of the match another time maybe...booo Dusty starts the next show talking about talking about the events of the day including on the martial status of Tony Schiavone and David Crockett's love for the ladies. (4/13/85) Tully & Baby Doll are out next for a promo. Paul Jones & Abdullah the Butcher then come out with Jones' arm in a sling thanks to Valiant attacking him with his old lady and Jones vows revenge. Andersons come back out for a promo and Arn was really showing off during this time period on promos setting the standard of what was to come. Magnum then cuts a promo talking about his future challengers. Valiant then comes out for a funny promo. Then we get the Dusty slapping Baby Doll angle. The next show starts with the Russians for a promo with Ivan shouting out "AIN'T NOTHING CAN STOP US" for the ignorant Americans. Nikita also calls out Flair. (4/20/85) Tully & Baby Doll are out for a promo with Tully talking about the TV title yet again. Next we get the angle where Dusty gets the new TV Title belt. Magnum TA vs. Doug Vines (4/20/85) Magnum wins in 7 seconds. Then we get a taped promo from Flair talking about all his contenders around the world. Paul Jones is out next in a canary yellow tuxedo but doesn't have his sling on anymore and shows his scars from Valiant. Dusty is out next with his new title talking about his upcoming match on that day with Krusher before Ivan shows up talking shit and tells him that he can get a gorilla take care of him & Nikita. This is the beginning of the awesome gorilla angle. Extra material. Abdullah the Butcher vs. Gene Ligon (4/20/85) Total squash. Next we get another promo from Bull & T-Bolt with Bolt having his National Tag Title belt with him. NWA World TV Title: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes © vs. Krusher Khruschev (4/20/85) Ivan is ringside for this. Dusty works over Krusher's left arm with a cool headscissors armbar combo early here. Krusher would make a comeback though chunking Dusty to the floor where Ivan would attack him. Krusher would work over Dusty's back with bearhugs but Dusty would fight back even hitting a dropkick. Dusty would get a flash pinfall on a schoolboy after Krusher missed a running smash into the corner. The Russians would then triple team Dusty afterwards working over his back until Bolt, Bull, & Magnum would make the save. Bull & Bolt then cut a promo afterwards. The match wasn't much of anything. Magnum is then out for another promo talking about his 7 second win earlier. Andersons then come back out for another promo on Bull & Bolt. Dusty starts the next show cutting a promo about everything that's going on. (4/27/85)
