Posted September 25, 201411 yr comment_5628554 This starts with Flair being awesome then Magnum shows up and he asks how much time is left with Tony saying that there is 15 minutes left so Magnum offers Flair $1,000 to beat him in 10 minutes. $1,000 Challenge: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Magnum TA (6/15/85) This is just a great spectacle as it's the TV payoff for the past month of promos and angles the wrestlers do a tremendous job of working this 10:00 match. Both men brought it at a fast pace and with intensity in everything they did while Arn & Ole were doing commentary at ringside which added even more to it. The stretch run for this was fantastic especially Tony Schiavone doing PBP and this whole deal is a definite nomination. Then we get the Buzz/Ivan match from weeks earlier. Next we get clips of Flair/Magnum from The Omni. Flair then cuts a promo about his match with Magnum on TV and how he and his cousins showed him how to be a man then he says that he is going to make Nikita pay for taking out David Crockett then goes back to talking shit on the faces. So he went heel to face to heel in one promo. Great stuff. (6/22/85) Then we get a taped promo from Cowboy Bill Watts who is coming to Atlanta on 7/4 to face the Russians and he cuts a fantastic promo about all evil foreigners. Watts also got a steroid freak line on the Russians. Definite extra. (6/22/85) Dusty makes his return to TV and he talks about the Watts promo and then his battle with Tully & Baby Doll. Slater is out next and says that he has a dream of being the world champ but his dream that day was that the people that were captured in Beirut come home. Point of reference was that he was talking about the hijacked airplane which was portrayed in the great movie The Delta Force. Slater then said that he would help Watts in his war with the Russians. Dusty jumps in the ring after a Tully squash and he pushed Baby Doll down prompting Tully to jump him which eventually led to Baby Doll hitting Dusty with the loaded elbowpad. Good stuff. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) vs. Italian Stallion, Rocky King, & Pistol Pez Whatley (6/22/85) These are the types of matches that WWE should be having on TV weekly to keep shit fresh instead of retreading the same damn shit all the time. The fans were so damn hot early for Pez's flurry of offense and fun watching the heels sell for him then at one point it broke down into a wild 6-way brawl where Rocky King was even punking out Arn!!! The heels would eventually isolate Pez as they chunked his partners to the floor but he would eventually get the tag in to Stallion who would get worked over. They would go to break after Stallion gets beaten down and we come back to Rocky King getting beaten down. Rocky would get the hot tag to Pez who ran wild on the heels again before it again broke down into a 6-way brawl but the ref never saw it and Rocky stayed the legal man and the heels continued to work over his left leg. Magnum is now out on commentary and Flair goes to the desk to yell at Magnum to get him some too as Rocky gets destroyed. Arn gives Rocky the Gourdbuster and Flair puts him out with the figure-four to end this very fun squash match. It's not over though as Flair gets in Magnum's face with the Andersons by his side until Magnum is joined by Slater & Valiant and the heels walk off. This segment was so damn awesome. Extra material. Valiant then cuts a promo demanding a Dog Collar Match with Paul Jones in the future. The Koloffs are out next with Ivan wearing a Road Warriors shirt with the word GUTLESS wrote under the picture. Ivan then says that Nikita had to take out David Crockett to get a title shot and then Ivan calls out Bill Watts. Nikita then rips the shirt up and they show the video of Nikita attacking David Crockett on 6/11. Black Bart is out next pissed off that the fans letters to the NWA got Ronnie Garvin reinstated in JCP and he blamed Tony Schiavone for everything. Dusty is back out from his attack earlier and he says that he wants a Barbed Wire Match against Tully to keep Baby Doll away from the action but he also wants to put her in Betty Lou. Kevin Sullivan then comes out making his debut and he does his schtick calling out Dick Slater. Kevin Sullivan vs. Gerald Finley (6/22/85) Sullivan destroys Finley as Slater comes out to ringside to watch with Sullivan baiting him. Budro & Dillon then come out for a promo where Dillon calls out Flair, Dusty, & Magnum and Budro talking shit on Flair exclusively. Flair then comes out where he rebutts Landell saying that he was wearing a Sears & Roebuck bathrobe while Dillon wears one of Porter Waggoner's old jackets. Flair then gets his shots in on Magnum, Dusty, & Nikita as well. David Crockett is back with Tony on the next show after being out a couple of weeks due to the attack by Nikita. (6/29/85) Black Bart then comes out and tells Ronnie Garvin to bring it on and that he will get rid of him permanently. Flair then comes out and talks all kinds of shit especially on Nikita for attacking his friend David Crockett and says that he will make him his personal gardener. Next we get a GOD DAMN awesome video of Dusty sitting at some table in Pecos, Texas with Betty Lou behind him and barbed wire on the table while Whiskey Bent & Hellbound by Hank Williams Jr. plays in the background. Dusty then drinks tequila in honor of Tully. This is a slam dunk extra. Tully then comes out in his bunkhouse attire to respond to Dusty's video from earlier and says that he is ready for anything Dusty has. The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Larry Clarke & Dale Williams (6/29/85) This is the debut of MX & Corny on TBS with Corny cutting his first promo afterwards and this is a slam dunk extra. Black Bart vs. Italian Stallion (6/29/85) Stallion gets some shine early on as he frustrates Bart with his offense with Stallion especially keying on Bart's left arm. Bart would then take over and he would work over Stallion's left arm as payback. Bart was ruthless working over the arm and Stallion tries to fight back using his right arm but he couldn't weaken Bart. Bart would miss a headbutt in the turnbuckle though that let Stallion make a comeback but Bart would take Stallion's legs from under him and put his feet on the ropes to pin him. This was a fun TV match but it was too one sided for me to be a nomination. Valiant then comes out and cuts a promo about Paul Jones who would then come out alone to confront Valiant with Jones cutting a very passionate promo talking up his background as a great wrestler and don't take him lightly. This was good stuff. The Sawyers are out next talking about their issues with the Andersons and Brett looks high as a motherfucker. Corny then comes back out and cuts a great promo. What made Corny so great in this promotion was that his style was so different than any other manager JCP ever had. Sam Houston vs. Jason Walker (6/29/85) Spotlight match for Sam with Tully & Baby Doll coming out to do commentary. Tully talks about Sam being Dusty's protege and Tully whooped Sam's ass with a belt before Dusty ran out to make the save. Tully then cut a celebratory promo afterwards. Then we get clips of Tyler/Valiant vs. Budro/Nagasaki.
