October 29, 201410 yr Author comment_5636531 I spent a few minutes trying to confirm that this was indeed Gran Naniwa because it's a completely different look. I still have no idea. Whoever it is, I didn't get into this one too much. Naniwa helping Tiger out of his jacket when he snuck attacked him kind of defeated the point of a sneak attack. They were doing the right things, but lacked conviction, so it felt like two guys just doing what they think is wrestling. Mike Lorefice sure thought it was good though.
January 15, 201510 yr comment_5649533 I didn't think much of this match either, though the last couple minutes were pretty energetic and good.
April 26, 201510 yr comment_5666042 It looks more like Minoru Tanaka's HEAT character than Gran Naniwa but the mask does look like Naniwa. I agree with you guys that this wasn't much. Tiger Mask always bores me. Gran was fine though.
June 25, 201510 yr comment_5680981 The best portion was when TM 4 went on the attack but this didn't evolve beyond a good match that didn't have any emergency to it. Disappointing given all the other Japanese indy hidden gems that surrounded 1999. **1/2
August 2, 20178 yr comment_5809544 I probably am the high vote on this--this was a good, enjoyable match. That said, it was a TOTAL TM4 carry job as Naniwa offered absolutely nothing until unleashing the big bombs at the end. Before that his offense looked loose, he didn't sell particularly well, and he brought nothing to the table other than being in place for TM4 to execute his spots. I still liked this but came out of it looking forward to more TM4 and with more support for my '90s-watch conclusion that Naniwa pretty much sucked.
