September 9, 201510 yr comment_5697858 I probably watched American Gladiators at the time Rico was on. It used to air over here at something like 3am on a Saturday. Then they made a UK version and I was in the crowd for the first ever show. I couldn't believe at the time that the tickets were free! Needless to say I found out why at the taping as they got 20m of footage in 4-5 hours.
January 16, 20169 yr comment_5720989 Rico shown on American Gladiators got him over as an athlete because he smoked the competition. The clips of the feats of strength stuff really showed he had good charisma and energy that looked like it could transition into pro wrestling.
