Posted October 22, 200519 yr comment_3731863 For the last 5 months, I have had my video game systems disconnected. I really haven't been keeping up with the game scene so I know there has to be a worthwhile game out there that I can pick up. I own an XBox and a PS2. Are there any games released in the last few months worth picking up?
October 22, 200519 yr comment_3731915 X-Men Legends II....... otherwise not really. This was probably the worst summer ever as far as quality games go.
October 22, 200519 yr comment_3732696 Hulk Ultimate Destruction is a fun game however it can be ploughed through and completed within about a week and a half. The new Ultimate Spiderman game hasn't quite lived up to my expectations, I guess I'll see how it goes. I've heard good things about Farcry Instincts and the last Burnout. Fahrenheit is another I have heard is a good game, just has the same issue of a short linear storyline.
October 22, 200519 yr comment_3734689 I haven't played it yet, but Blitz: The League looks fun. Arcade football not licensed by the NFL allows for trashy stoylines and options, like 'roiding up your players to get them back in the game after an injury.
October 22, 200519 yr comment_3735859 As Mad Dog mentioned, it's really been a terrible summer, but there are a few games out there and a couple of big ones that are coming out very soon. I haven't tried out Burnout: Revenge, so I'm not sure how far it is from the rest of the entries in the series, but it's probably worth a spin, especially if you haven't played any of the games in the series. I just rented Ultimate Spider-Man (but for the GC) - I'm hoping to play through it and get a review up in the Capsule Reviews soon on it. I haven't played X-Men Legends II, but I can't imagine it's that much of a departure from the first one, which was some decent fun. If you like Tony Hawk, the new game (American Wasteland) just came out last week, I think. Looks like the series has taken a page out of SSX 3 and made the game into one gigantic level that you can skate through. Honestly, the last one I played was THPS4 and I wasn't even that impressed with it, but there might be some new stuff in there. If you hold on a week or so, there's a couple of good looking games on the way for the PS2: Resident Evil 4 is coming out for the PS2 (October 26th, I think). RE4 is one of the best games I've played in years, so I couldn't recommend it enough to you. Also, Soul Calibur III hits the shelves on the 25th.
