Posted October 1, 201411 yr comment_5630659 This starts with clips of the RnR/Koloffs title change. Next we get an MX/Sawyers brawl from TBS. Then we get clips of Ron Bass vs. Black Bart from 8/25/85 on TBS. $1,000 Challenge: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Magnum TA (6/15/85) This is just a great spectacle as it's the TV payoff for the past month of promos and angles the wrestlers do a tremendous job of working this 10:00 match. Both men brought it at a fast pace and with intensity in everything they did while Arn & Ole were doing commentary at ringside which added even more to it. The stretch run for this was fantastic especially Tony Schiavone doing PBP and this whole deal is a definite nomination. Next we get the Roadies painting Jay Youngblood angle from GCW a year earlier for some reason. Dusty jumps in the ring after a Tully squash and he pushed Baby Doll down prompting Tully to jump him which eventually led to Baby Doll hitting Dusty with the loaded elbowpad. Good stuff. NWA World Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. The Rising Suns (Tatsutoshi Goto & Kendo Nagasaki) (8/17/85) RnR start off very strong and maintain the advantage for quite some time as they use some really good armwork but Gibson would get isolated in the other corner and the masked men would work him over. They would throw Gibson to the floor so Dillon could get his shots in as well and Gibson is in trouble. Gibson though would get the hot tag to Morton who cleaned house before Gibson would join in but Morton would get caught by the Suns slingshot chop finisher and when they tried it again Morton countered with a sunset flip to win. Decent match with some great heat but not a nomination. Then we get the Andersons attacking Magnum in the locker room as he is cutting a promo and this of course is a slam dunk extra. Magnum is going to cum on Tully like no one has ever cum on him before getting it on like two men should do. Then we get clips from the Omni that night where Dusty got jumped. (7/21/85) NWA World TV Title: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes © vs. Arn Anderson (7/27/85) This might have been their first singles match ever. Baby Doll is at ringside in Dusty's corner with Dusty teeing off on Arn early telling her to shut up. Dusty starts working over Arn's leg early and often trying to setup for his figure-four leglock. Arn though to his credit would stop Dusty in his tracks and he would go to work on Dusty's left arm the Anderson way. Dusty would come back though and fought through it even hitting a dropkick to put Arn down. Arn is tough and he comes back again working over that arm with Dusty inside and outside the ring. Dusty would break out some headbutts and chops to regain control before a double collision which gave Dusty a chance to get up before Arn and he would hit a big football tackle on Arn but knocked referee Mike Fever out as well. Ole would run in and he beat Dusty down before rolling Fever back in the ring but Dusty would kick out and in the process threw Arn on Fever then threw him into him again sending Fever back to the floor. Dusty now climbs up top hitting a bionic elbow off the top and Magnum runs in the ring and makes the count himself. Ole then hits a running knee on Magnum from behind which looked fierce. Magnum came back though and America's Team would clean house. Shitty finish but this was a damn fun match and a low-end nomination. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez, & Magnum TA vs. Ivan & Nikita Koloff, & Krusher Khruschev (7/1/85) This is a great looking TV match and the fans are molten hot for this. The match started off with a bang as everyone got shots in on Ivan before it turned into a 6-way brawl which in the process Tommy Young got clipped by mistake and hurt his knee which he was trying to shake off the whole match. Magnum at one point demands Nikita come in the ring and it was cool to see them going at it a year before their legendary feud. We get a commercial break during this part but we come back with the faces still in control but we have a new referee as Roughhouse Fargo takes over for Tommy. Dusty gets dominated by the Russians in their corner and he works FIP and this was really good as the fans were nuts for Dusty trying to get to his corner which he would do getting the hot tag to Manny who ran wild on Krusher. The match would soon break down into a 6-way brawl but order would be restored and the Russians would work over Manny but he hits a desperation clothesline on Ivan and it's back to a 6-way brawl again with Bull being thrown over the top rope for the DQ. Shitty finish but again this match was a blast and this is a low-end nomination. Next we get clips of Luger beating Wahoo McDaniel for the Southern Heavyweight Title. Paul Jones is out saying that The Barbarian isn't at TV today and that his match with Wahoo McDaniel can't happen so Arn Anderson shows up and says that he wants to take Wahoo's belt leading to...... Southern Heavyweight Title: Chief Wahoo McDaniel © vs. Arn Anderson (10/20/85) Wahoo dominates Arn early and keeps Arn grounded before a commercial break which when we come back Arn is working over Wahoo's head. Wahoo fights back though firing off some chops and has Arn dead to rights but Ole runs out for the DQ and it's 2-on-1 until Magnum makes the unlikely save for his former enemy. God I wanted so much more from this. Then we get clips from Flair/Sarge from PWUSA.
