He says they can't let the writers win. Piper is so incoherent that he's the wrong guy to be doing promos like this for what they were going for. He tells the locker room to form a union. Not much of a match before the ref bump, although it wasn't bad. Bret low blows Goldberg and puts on a figure four, and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash come out with baseball bats. They hit the ring and start attacking Goldberg. Nash then hands a bat to Bret and the three of them work over Goldberg. Piper comes in the ring to try to help. He covers Goldberg to take blows for him and the finish gets fucked up royally, as the ref counts three when Bret isn't even covering Goldberg. Then Jarrett joins them in the ring and hits Piper with the guitar. Then in the big moment, Jarrett spraypaints the letters N-W-O in silver on Goldberg's chest. Then the NWO music starts. Nash gets on the mic to say the band is back together. Watch for the key moment at the end when a fan tells Bret he sucks and Bret responds, "I don't suck. You suck. You're the one who bought a ticket to see this shit." Just read his lips, as he doesn't have a mic in his hand.

Such a good line wasted as well. The NWO is 4 Life and couldn't stay buried for long. The ref actually counted 3 whilst Piper was covering Goldberg rather than Bret. Which gives the Rowdy one a great case for being WCW champion. They missed a trick there.
November 15, 20159 yr comment_5710108 That Bret line was great. Why did PIper come out when he said he left the building? Poor Goldberg, his heat is taken from Nash and the NWO again. Not even the announcers can sell this. I wonder how long this version would have gone if Bret stayed healthy?
March 21, 20169 yr comment_5734647 Bret probably could've had a hell of a match with Goldberg if the circumstances were right. But yeah, dumb stuff here. At least we get Piper spreading class consciousness in the back.
