Next we get the Greatest Sports Legends episode with Bruno Sammartino hosted by Tom Seaver....this is really good. Ken Patera vs. "Polish Power" Ivan Putski (1/12/80) Lots of strength spots early on with both men trying to prove themselves and the fans were definitely going nuts for this stuff. Patera is good here at selling everything for Putski and outsmarted him by baiting him to the floor then rolling in the ring just in time to win by countout. WWF Heavyweight Title: Bob Backlund © vs. "Cowboy" Bobby Duncum (2/9/80) Not a whole lot going on here as it was kinda slow at the start which with Duncum is expected as there was lots of stalling and headlocks but Duncum would start clubbing on Backlund until he ate an inside cradle for the finish. Dick Graham then interviewed Bob afterwards. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Gorilla Monsoon & Tito Santana (2/9/80) Always interesting to watch Monsoon wrestle at this time of his career. Another thing of note here is the ring announcer is the legendary Dave Zinkoff who was the Spectrum house announcer and had one of the greatest voices ever. The match itself was nothing to write home about as it was slow and plodding although Tito was very good at selling the punishment and it was fun watching Monsoon bumping and running. Monsoon would eat a headbutt and jumped over the top rope to the floor for a countout. Then we get a profile of Bob Backlund talking about his history. "Incredible" Hulk Hogan vs. Dominic DeNucci (2/9/80) Hogan is green as grass but you see the potential and so do some of the Philly fans as they started taking to Hogan already. DeNucci was a solid opponent for Hogan at this stage of his career as he was a decent worker who could make Hogan look really good. This was actually a decent match.
