January 15, 201510 yr comment_5649519 Demolition are hard to say, they feel like "rip offs" and the Road Warriors were put in not all that long ago. Please don't upset me... I love Demolition as a kid. They didnt need to split them up just because LOD didnt want another facepaint spike material tag team. I still reckon thats why POP got split up in Jan 90 even though LOD hadent signed till the summer unless WWE agreed on some demands.
January 15, 201510 yr comment_5649565 She's deleted because she's a train wreck addict who's mentally ill. You really think they should find her under whatever overpass or dive motel she's living in currently and drag her out on the stage? Not that I'm trying to blame anyone, but Trips and Steph dating behind her back - with Vince keeping it a secret too - didn't exactly help her mental state. I understand that shit happens, and Steph and H shouldn't be crucified for feeling whatever they felt (nor should Vince for protecting his daughter), but they could've been more upfront with Chyna from the beginning. But hindsight and all of that. As for "dragging her out from under an overpass," Tony Atlas - who was living under a bridge - was allowed a second chance. Anyway, she seemed pretty clearheaded and coherent in a YouTube video I saw of her six months or so ago. Don't know if anything has changed since then. But if she's in a better state of mind, she deserves to be credited for what she contributed. Sunny was a fucking trainwreck for years, cleaned herself up enough to get inducted, and then got into more messes. Also, a ripoff doesn't have to be a direct copy. That said, it's wrestling. If even Ric Flair can be a direct ripoff of someone else's gimmick, then it's a moot point. Pretty much this. If Flair gets a free pass, why not Demolition? They ended up being different enough, and a good act in their own right. No, obviously they weren't on Flair's level, but they still carved out a pretty respectable run for themselves.
January 15, 201510 yr comment_5649572 Its a dark horse canidate, but how about Larry Zbyszko? Obviously not as a headliner, but he could be one of the more minor inductees. I've seen him as a talking head on some WWE documentaries so he must have a good relationship with the company. They could just emphasize how hot the bruno/larry feud was in the video package to educate the fans, and have Bruno induct him. The only problem is that the majority of his best work was in the 70s, and the WWE HOF is starting to de-emphasize their 70s stuff (aside from Bruno of course) to focus more on 80s-00s wrestlers.

I'd be down with this, and I think he's on pretty friendly terms with the E these days. Wasn't he at the first NXT "PPV"?
January 16, 201510 yr comment_5649719 Wouldn't letting a former full-time pornstar in the Hall of Fame be a PR disaster? Then kick Sunny out for her recent escapades. Also while the porn industry still has its unseemly reputation in the mainstream, there are those out there (i.e. Kevin Smith, Howard Stern and wrestling itself) who are making it seem more of a "legit" form of "entertainment" over the last few decades, so I don't think Chyna being a porn star will have the same PR/marketing disaster affect it would have years ago.
January 16, 201510 yr Author comment_5649725 Demolition was a Vince creation so they have a better chance than anyone to get in.
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649727 That's a geographic and age thing. Growing up watching the Roadies and the NWA, when Demolition came around they felt like the WWFs answer to the Road Warriors and it felt like a rip off the same way the Blade Runners were a poor imitation in Mid South. I agree they were very different workers in the ring. It's not that different from acknowledging that after the success of the RNR Express, even territory felt the need to have their own rocking tag team. Rock n Roll tag team? Check. S&M face paint team? Check. Evil Russian? Check.
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649732 I stay true to the title of this thread. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/16445-one-and-only-demolition-thread/page-7 (that feels like so long ago now)
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649735 The Road Warriors/Demolition thing seems like one of the rare cases where the WWF acknowledges that the "outside" creation was superior. Doubtless the Bill Eadie lawsuit and general dispute over the Demolition origin has a lot to do with that.
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649745 Ray Stevens seems like a no brainer. Especially since his long time tag team partner was part of the WWE's braintrust for a long time and could easily deliver the induction speech.

This would be fantastic. If Bruno can't be enticed, Regal would be a great choice. And if they can make highlights out of Koko B. Ware's WWF run, they can make plenty of Larry's AWA, WCW, and announcing work.
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649750 The problem with Stevens is that he's not a guy they talk up. The current fanbase has no idea who he is and no point of reference. Maybe they're a little better off because Flair's mentioned him in interviews once or twice but in general no idea. Certainly no one under 20. Very likely no one under thirty and probably not for most people under 40. You could make a list of names more familiar to the WWE Universe that's 60 names long. A guy like Dastardly Danny Davis seems somehow more likely to go in than Stevens, unless Stevens goes in as a favor to Patterson (which I think is how Mad Dog Vachon got in). It's one thing to put Gorgeous George in or to put Carlos Colon in as part of a footage deal or to get paid by Inoki or whatever. There's a hell of a better chance we see Stacy Kiebler in there than Ray Stevens, and frankly, she probably does the company more good to put in than Stevens does by a degree of ten.

Just off the top of my head, his former tag team partner Arn Anderson, his former manager Paul (E. Dangerously) Heyman, and his buddy Scott Hall would all be great choices. All of them are either currently under contract or on a Legends deal.

She did a porn fucking a fake Gene Okerlund , Atlas was living under a park bench, and it's a fucking Pro Wrestling Hall Of Fame. It's s a work. And therefore Bruno would be the worst guy to induct Larry, that Judas Frankenstein. Besides, Larry will just sell his HOF Ring and status to Killer Tim Brooks.
January 17, 201510 yr comment_5649798 Ray Stevens seems like a no brainer. Especially since his long time tag team partner was part of the WWE's braintrust for a long time and could easily deliver the induction speech. Do they have a lot of Ray Stevens footage in their library? If not, that's probably what would keep them from inducting him as much as anything. That's what is keeping Danny Hodge out, sadly. Lou Thesz should be in whether he's marketable or not, though. He's Lou Thesz. He's one of those people where fans should at least be familiar with the name and have a general idea of his place in history. The fact that he isn't shows that as much as the acknowledgment of history has improved in the last 10-15 years, they could still do so much better. Then again, I'm not even sure everyone on their roster would know the significance of the name. If I ever see Cameron in public, I'm going to ask her about Lou Thesz.
January 18, 201510 yr Author comment_5649875 Wouldn't they have a lot of AWA footage and maybe some MSG footage?
January 18, 201510 yr comment_5649891 Maybe I'm biased because I cut my teeth on the territory but Ray Stevens should go in. It's the San Francisco Bay Area for Christ's sake. Let Patterson induct him. I guarantee it would get a SF Chronicle right up. Probably get mentioned in Sports Radio here and on Comcast Sports Channels. Wonder if they'd put a guy like Fatu in. He was born in SF. So were his sons who could induct him. Pretty big Samoan population here as well. Seems like the kinda guy who could get in by WWE HOF standards.

January 26, 201510 yr Author comment_5651338 Arnold Schwarzenegger to be inducted into the celebrity wing.
January 27, 201510 yr comment_5651568 Arnold Schwarzenegger to be inducted into the celebrity wing. Yeah cool I guess. Is his old Buddy Jesse inducting him?
January 27, 201510 yr Author comment_5651590 That would be kind of awesome, but who knows if Jesse is cool with Vince anymore or not.
January 28, 201510 yr comment_5651758 Well he did appear in 2009 wasent it on Raw so maybe things are good. Jesse always talks about pretenders to his throne because he was a ex Navy Seal. Who is he on about? Slaughter or Kerchner?
January 28, 201510 yr Author comment_5651803 Jesse's commentary has been removed from individual matches on WWE's recent home video releases so it's possible he stirred that pot up again. Plus, considering that Chris Kyle has been in the news again because of American Sniper doing so well at the Box Office, I'm not sure they'd want to risk giving Jesse TV time for fear that it might hurt their relationship with the USO.
January 28, 201510 yr comment_5651819 I would think Arnold would be inducted by HHH because "they're both 'pro' bodybuilders", among other reasons.
