I've been vocal about the HOF in general. Like a lot of HOF's across many forms of entertainment and sports the choices are baffling and the criteria is ambiguous. Therefore I've never understood when people get upset and endlessly debate things.

That being said ( :P ) my feelings on the Bushwackers going in are that they were a very popular tag team during the peak of their run. The sort of personalities parents of kids would remember. Was never a fan of the Sheepherders work or style, but the role they were cast in within the WWF they did well. Should they be in the HOF? I'd say no. But this particular HOF I'm confident most people will get a go around. This is the induction that also makes me think now more than ever, Tatanka will go in.

It would take a little research, but I would hazard a guess that the Bushwhackers are top five in the amount of matches worked together as a team in WWE history. How many teams worked exclusively as partners in the company for eight years?

I did some tag team stats on my blog a few years ago: https://sites.google.com/site/chrisharrington/mookieghana-prowrestlingstatistics/wwf_tag_title_data

I looked at a CageMatch 1963_2013 file that I put together in the 2014. The tag teams that performed together the most in that dataset (which is incomplete, especially in the pre-1992 era where I prefer to usually use History of WWE data) were:

Hart Foundation: 686 matches

Bushwhackers: 658 matches

Dudleyz: 643 matches

Hardyz: 542 matches

Demolition: 539 matches (this was for Ax & Smash)

Rockers: 477 matches

Legion of Doom: 474 matches

Smoking Gunn: 451 matches

British Bulldogs: 436 matches

Fabulous Rougeaus: 421 matches

APA: 410 matches

Christian & Edge: 344 matches

Usos: 339 matches (this data was only through 2013 so there's more like 536 matches now)

Harris Bros (various incarnations): 335 matches

Godwinns: 317 matches

Nasty Boys: 306 matches

New Age Outlaws: 302 matches (again, this was only through 2013 so there's more like a dozen or more matches they've had in the past two years for WWE)

Rikishi & Samu: 301 matches

Killer Bees: 294 matches

Headbangers: 291 matches

Wild Samoans: 285 matches

Bolveshiks: 277 matches

Too Cool: 270 matches

Cade & Murdoch: 270 matches

Beverly Bros: 257 matches

These are hardly "official" numbers, but they give you a relative sense. Guys before 1992 probably have at least 10% of their matches missing from those years.

When I got that notification my first thought was "What the hell is the Bushwhackers connection to the Bay Area?" I thought they tried to pick people who had some sort of connection to the area. They already inducted Peter Maivia.

apparently in 89-90 they were heavily rumored to be getting a tag title run because of how over they were with the kids. it came up a good bit in the WON while they were feuding with the rougeaus.

i guess they eventually decided they didn't need the belts to stay over, so they became the tag-team equivalent to jim duggan.

This is cool, but it doesn't really make sense. Bruno doesn't like to travel much, and he was never a big star in the bay area.

I think it's ridiculous that Ray Stevens isn't going in......because if not this year then when? The guy is a legend in that part of the country, and his induction would get WWE all sorts of legit mainstream press. It would be in newspapers. It would be on tv. They should want that. I don't get it.
