February 5, 201510 yr comment_5653020 Big thanks to Will on the show for the inspiration for my new avatar.
February 5, 201510 yr Author comment_5653022 Just listened to the first 20 minutes, awesome stuff! Tim is a great host and a real fun topic. Can't wait to finish this off later today.
February 6, 201510 yr comment_5653084 About 15 minutes in and enjoying it already. Big thumbs up to Will for calling out kids who were fans of heels, that's just not right.
February 6, 201510 yr comment_5653126 About halfway through and really enjoying this. Conversation just breezes by. This was the first I heard that Garvin was scheduled for Flair at Starrcade '86 until the Magnum injury. Has that been widely reported or written about elsewhere?

February 6, 201510 yr comment_5653160 I don't know if it was the host upgrade (Kidding) or what, but this show was awesome. I think it was the direct result of a list like this being geared more towards nostalgia and fond memories live than actual in ring workrate and quality. As I was going along with my own personal list, I thought to myself that Goldberg vs. Hogan for sure would be my #1 and was delighted to hear Tim mention it. Shows like this are really a treat to listen to as you get the basis behind why we all are still so invested in pro wrestling. Awesome stuff guys.
February 6, 201510 yr comment_5653171 It really was off the top of my head that I chose the topic, but considering the amount of work-centric stuff that a lot of the podcasts do (which is by no means a bad thing), I wanted to do something a little different and it couldn't have turned out any better. Really is a cool topic.
February 6, 201510 yr comment_5653174 It definitely got me thinking that a future top 6 live moments for a PWSS would be neat..
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653206 Funny thing is that to me, my #1 title change would be Austin vs. Michaels which you guys on the show brushed off like nothing. I was about 8 at the time and that match was absolutely huge to me. God only knows how many times I watched WM14 on VHS, especially that match.
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653208 I was 13 and the same is true for me. That show is my most watched tape ever. I probably watched the tape of the PPV once a week for most of the rest of '98.
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653212 This was a really good listen for me. It highlighted some things that I really don't think about a lot and I probably ought to. Gives me another way of looking at wrestling, which is a huge plus. Thanks to Tim, Will and KrisZ.
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653275 I'll defend Tim's Vader-Sting choice. I was a freshman in college at the time. I was home for the summer. 92 was my last time I got a ppv till 96 GAB. Vader was a guy we were conditioned to never believe would win the world title. Fat guys could challenge for the belt , but never win it . We saw it time and time again. They had a little angle where Vader broke Sting's ribs, but the heat was on Rude/Sting. Even the tag tournament seemed more important because Watts pushed the MVC so big. So at the finish people were shocked when Vader went over . Their was a big hush that went over the crowd . At home I was stunned.
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653278 I'll also put over the Tito-Valentine feud. One of the best ever. When we interviewed Tito for Titans I said to Tito if they don't include that feud in the Networks Rivalries doc it's a travesty.
February 7, 201510 yr comment_5653290 Really enjoyed listening to this. I'm a sucker for anything that captures great moments like this. I've also been meaning to watch the full Final Conflict package on youtube and this was a great reminder to try and get to it this weekend. One thing that occurred to me listening to this is that unlike sports where your teams may be mired in terrible or mediocre seasons for years on end, we're all on team wrestling and will have a number of moments every year where we can feel a part of the home crowd during something awesome.
February 10, 201510 yr comment_5653658 This isn't intended as a knock of Steven, but this was a legit great show and probably a top six episode of the PWSS. I have to say that aside from being a great historian, KrisZ is a really captivating storyteller.
February 11, 201510 yr comment_5653843 About halfway through and really enjoying this. Conversation just breezes by. This was the first I heard that Garvin was scheduled for Flair at Starrcade '86 until the Magnum injury. Has that been widely reported or written about elsewhere? Just an FYI, but Meltzer and Sempervive dismissed this on Observer Radio.
February 11, 201510 yr comment_5653850 Which is interesting because Meltz was one of the first ones to report that back in the day.
February 11, 201510 yr comment_5653852 Which is interesting because Meltz was one of the first ones to report that back in the day. I found that weird too.
