First off I apologize for the awkwardness of the title. But on the latest Titans of Wrestling, the concept of a wrestler who a "new to you" match would excite you the most. (Ricky Steamboat is given as an example)

 

Who is yours? I'm not talking about someone like Ed Lewis, where yeah 10 of his matches somehow being found would be awesome I mean someone we COULD actually get new footage, or new footage to you of.

 

For me right now it's Nick Bockwinkel. Prior to joining Titans the only Bock I had seen was the stuff on the various WWE DVD's as well as the Wrestling Gold collection. Nowhere near enough Bock and any time I can watch some new Bock I just love it and can't wait to see the match.

Bock was one of the first people I was thinking too, but we really do have a lot. Mocho Cota is another. Maybe a bunch more Andre surfacing from the late 70s?

 

More of prime Bob Orton would be a good one. I'd love to see more of the Ric Flair/Greg Valentine team.

Ray Stevens was the first guy I thought of.

 

Would love to see more stuff from guys like Beyer, Rogers, Rikidozan, too. But Stevens seems like a guy where if more stuff from him showed up, he'd be considered an all-time great the way people talked about him.

Negro casas actually. We of course have a ton of him but only the santo 87 match pretty much from the entire decade. If that match is any indication, he was pretty damn elite.

 

Most of my top answers are lucha guys. The top US would be bock from the 70s and tommy rich Georgia omni and big show footage.

Randy Savage from ICW. Actually any new found ICW or Memphis footage. Someone somewhere has to have WMC full shows from the late 80s. I cant believe that nobody back then in the Memphis market didn't tape those shows.

Negro Casas and Pirata Morgan. I'd love to see more prime Perro Aguayo too. Anytime somebody finds a new tape of pre 1989 lucha the world is alright for a while.

Lots of Alan Sarjeant. Black Terry in his physical prime. Bock. Mocho Cota. These are the ones that stand out right now.

With British wrestling, anything from the 50s or 60s would be a major find, but particularly workers whom we have nothing of like Billy Joyce, George Kidd or Billy Robinson. I'd take that over say 60s McManus or Pallo as I expect they wrestled pretty much the same way they did in the 70s. If we're talking about guys we already have footage of, I'd go with more 70s Breaks, more Adrian Street and maybe more Gwyn Davies. Heel Albert Wall would be up there to. If we're just talking about a new match from any worker in general, I'd be excited to see a new Steve Grey match or a new Jon Cortez bout.

 

Pretty much any new lucha match would be welcomed, but if I had a choice I might actually be tempted to go with a journeyman like Charles Lucero or Leon Chino. Maybe a bit left field, but I think it would be fun. Blue Fish anyone?

I would love to have more Southeastern footage. I am refering to Ron Fuller 's promotion , not other companies using the Southeastern name. I have some footage from the early in mid 80 ;s. However there is almost no footage from 74 to 80. This run included talent like Bob Armstrong , The Monogolian Stomper, Jimmy Golden, Stan Lane, . Brad Armstrong , Ron Bass, Mr, Saito , Jerry Stubbs a.k.a. Mr. Olympia , Arn Anderson , The Sheepherders , Ron Garvin , Bob Roop , Jacques Rougeau , Joe LeDuc, Paul Orndorff, Ken Lucas The Fuller Brothers and Midnight Express, INc. and many others. The Southeastern Midnight Express members were Dennis Condry , Randy Rose , Norvell Austin , Wayne Farris and Ron Starr . Plus The Stomper and Ric Harris were in Midnight Express , Inc.

 

There is a handful of shows fron 80 to 84 that were saved , alot of 85 to 89 were taped by fans, however this was arter the glory years.I think Ron Fuller taped over everything , so most of the territory is lost to time .

Don Leo Jonathan is a guy who I am fascinated by after watching him wrestle Lou Thesz from the Chicago Archives.

Danny Hodge. He's talked up as much as any wrestler of his era, but we have absolutely no full matches available that I'm aware of.

Ray Stevens and younger Don Leo Jonathan would be my first choices. Also more prime Verne Gagne after watching those Chicago Archives.

 

Not matches but I would kill for archives of Crusher promos to be found.

Young Fujiwara, WOS Billy Robinson, every Satanico title or stip match from the '80s (could say similar things for a lot of luchadores), Lawler's arena main events from the '80s.

Billy Robinson's a great choice, especially when he was fighting the NWA champ (Was it Race in St. Louis?)

Blue Demon. A boatload of luchadors, really, but the one who springs to mind above all others for me is Blue Demon.

I wish we had some Race/Hennig tags from the AWA.

I'm in the same boat with Memphis Mark but in regards to Georgia. I watched Georgia TV (Squashy) in real time but never went to a show in Atlanta and still kick myself in the ass for not doing so. I'd like City Auditorium and Omni shows from 1975 thru 1984. I'd kill for this stuff.

Early Fujiwara, Funk & Hansen. I would love to see all the Memphis arena matches from Lawler at any point from the 70s, 80s or 90s.

I wish there was more Heel Mad Dog Vachon from the 50's - 70's against quality face opponents, like AWA title matches against Verne and Crusher, for example. Heel Vachon/Raschke from the Montreal area would also be sweet.

 

There is a lot of Bockwinkel available but obviously I wish there was more, especially more of his and Heenan's 70's interviews.

 

Stevens is another obvious choice for me, if only because he gets such significant praise from his peers in every situation and his footage is lacking.

 

Verne defenses against Watts, Crusher, Vachon, Hennig, Race, and so many others as well.

Prime Terry Funk and Ray Stevens.

More Murdoch and Rhodes, more heel Dusty in general, More Bobby Bass teaming with Rip Rogers? 70s Ronnie Garvin. Man I'm greedy.

I'm curious: why Leon Chino? He was one of those guys I'd see on magazines and think "this guy has got to be awesome" but everything I have seen from him as either Leon Chino or Katana has been kind of underwhelming. Have I missed anything?

 

I remember back in the early 00's coming back from partying at 2 or 3 AM and watching Monterrey wrestling on a crappy quality stream back before streaming was even a thing. Charles Lucero was a real discovery, one of those guys that looks old as fuck but can go (he may not be all that old). It's great that 15 years later he's still going strong.

It would be amazing to have mid-to-early 80s Toreo undercards with young guns Black Terry, El Matematico, Black Man, Ultraman, Solar, Super Astro, Blue Panther, Mano Negra and others.

 

Black Terry is one of those guys that, similar to Navarro, really found his thing doing the maestros style. There's a decent quantity of early 90s footage and I haven't revisited this in decades but I used to prefer Jose Luis Feliciano over him. Both were what I'd call great mechanics but I'd have never imagined we'd be talking about either still being a super worker two decades later. Steve Sims, who used to go down to Mexico a few times a year back then, used to refer to Feliciano/Terry as the most underrated tag team in the world.
