Posted May 11, 201510 yr comment_5667922 Rick Martel vs. Baron Mikel Scicluna (10/20/80)Martel wins in a short match using a flash sunset flip.Tony Garea vs. Larry Zbyszko (10/20/80)Here we go with the rematch from the previous month. Garea goes after Larry early sending him to the floor where he would play King of the Mountain giving Larry no chance to get back in the ring. Larry though finds a way back in the ring and starts pounding on Garea as payback but Garea would come firing back with shots and bodyslams. Garea keeps up the pressure just beating on Larry who finds a way out of taking punishment by assaulting referee Dick Kroll for the DQ. This was a short heated brawl.2 out of 3 falls for the WWF Tag Titles: The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & Pat Patterson (10/20/80)Dusty & Pat is quite the team. It was funny watching Afa selling and stooging for the faces early on with his crying face as they worked over his left arm. Patterson would get isolated in the Samoans' corner and they would work him over with nerve holds and double team tactics. Patterson would finally get the hot tag to Dusty who ran wild on Afa hitting the diving elbow to take the 1st fall. The 2nd fall starts with the Samoans getting their revenge on Dusty beating him down before Patterson got back in and along with Dusty they would work over Sika's left leg. The legwork continues until the bell rings as the show had hit it's curfew. Dusty & Pat were a fun team.WWF Tag Titles: Tony Garea & Rick Martel © vs. The Moondogs (King & Rex) (12/29/80)The champs look strong early on as they tag in and out quickly while keeping the pressure on Rex working over his left leg. Martel would get caught by Rex though as he had a legbar on him and the Dogs started doubling up on him roughing Martel up with strikes and turnbuckle smashes. Martel was really good as the FIP of course with some fun hope spots before finally getting the hot tag to Garea who comes in a house of fire taking it to the Dogs. Garea would get King in an abdominal stretch prompting Rex to come in to smash him with the bone for the DQ finish. Fine match with the faces looking really good but the finish killed it.WWF Heavyweight Title: Bob Backlund © vs. Killer Khan (12/29/80)Khan attacks Backlund as referee John Stanley is checking him and he pounds on him acting like a maniac yelling as he kicked him. Backlund would fight back as Khan had a nerve hold on him but Khan would chop him back down before going back to the nerve hold. Backlund would finally make his fiery comeback teeing off on Khan as the Garden would go nuts. Backlund would hit a huge piledriver but really couldn't capitalize on it because he was still tired from the beating he took earlier. Backlund would hit his patented atomic drop but Khan would get to the ropes which he also did on the piledriver. Backlund would get a monkey flip out of the corner but tried it again with Khan blocking it holding the ropes. Khan would come back hitting a big knee smash knocking Backlund through the ropes to the floor. Khan would hit a big knee smash off the top rope for a nearfall and had Backlund on the ropes before Bob would catch him with a desperation German Suplex to win the match. Khan was great here working over the champ and Backlund showed real fire. This moves forward as a solid nomination.WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title: Pedro Morales © vs. The Hangman (12/29/80)This was actually decent which considering Hangman was involved as like a minor miracle.Pat Patterson vs. Ken Patera (12/29/80)These guys had some great matches earlier in the year and they are back together to close it out. Patterson jumps Patera at the bell and sends him to the floor where he starts beating Patera down with Patera begging off and selling well. Patera finds his spot and he attacks Patterson sending him to the floor and uses a chair on him while posing for the crowd. Patera keeps up the aggression but Patterson would catch him with an inside cradle for a nearfall which started his comeback or so it seemed as Patera got the full-nelson but Patterson used his feet to spring off the ropes for a nearfall. Patterson comes firing back with punches on Patera who was on the apron but Patera would fire back with rapid shots until the referee DQed him for not letting Patterson get free. This was a horrible finish to what was a pretty damn good match.Next we get promos from Bruno, Wizard, & Patera for the 12/27/80 Baltimore show.Stan "The Lariat" Hansen vs. "Quick Draw" Rick McGraw (12/16/80)Hansen is back in WWF and is taking people out on TV to get prepared for Backlund. Hansen is relentless on McGraw and takes him out with a lariat. Then we get George Michael narrating Cap Centre clips."King Kong" Angelo Mosca vs. Freddie Marzino (6/9/81)Mosca destroys this jobber.Killer Khan vs. Ricky Stallone (12/2/80)Total squash.
