I saw Teddy Hart a couple weeks ago walking around with his cat at Inspire Pro Wrestling. I gave him a state like who hell brings a cat to an indoor wrestling show. Then it clicks that it's Teddy. So I quit my stare. He's booked on the show on the 6/21 I'm going to. I loved these Teddy stories.

Loved the show, love the title of this individual show and now I'm watching Nick Gage promos on YouTube.

Another great show full of great stories. Dixie and Insane Dragon were criminally underrated and I am glad that them and all of JAPW got a ton of love on this show.

One unintended take-away I had from this was just how much more "in tune" hardcores were to the indie scene 12-15 years ago than they are now. Back then there were lots of people familiar with and/or semi-regular viewers of ROH, CZW, JAPW, ECWA, USA Pro, IWA Mid-South, etc. People somehow found time to go to the trouble to obtain and watch all this stuff in addition to Japan, Lucha, free TV stuff, it's kind of crazy to think back on. In this current day & age where accessibility is theoretically much easier to products all over the place, the world has changed to where people just don't have time. Social media etc. has taken over to where it seems fans of the "indy" scene watch ROH, PWG, maybe Evolve. Then you have a group of harder cores that follow AAW, AIW, whatever but the drop off from there is huge to anyone following the smaller indies. I think in some ways it is harder for guys to make a name for themselves just because fans aren't viewing & talking about a wide variety of feds like they did back then.

It is a strange dichotomy now with everything being easier to get but another thing to factor in here is that people have gotten into more TV shows on premium channels which there wasn't a whole lot of back then plus other different forms of media going on now.

We're all older with more responsibilities too, and older/foreign footage is so much easier to watch.

Another thing you can't deny is that era had some amazing personalities across the indy scene while now you have some but not nearly as much as that era. Also every region was different and you didn't have a whole lot of the crossover talent like you do know.

This is a good pt. 15 years ago I was living at home going to school and could stay up till 4 am watching tapes/chatting, wake up, go to class, come home and watch more tapes. Now with a job, bills, etc. it's a struggle for me to stay awake past 10 on a weeknight and unless it's on TV right then I have a hard time watching it. I try to DVR but on the weekends I usually find myself wanting to do other things.

I cant even tell you how excited I was when I saw Low Ki had been announced for MPW against Super Dragon back in the day or when Dragon and BBOY were going to be in best of the best. Every region of the country was their own territory and to cross over then was a big fn deal.

One thing I need to mention is Rob & Wes had no idea who I was going to talk about at all here and everything is us just riffing on the fly.....the only thing they knew was the brief Tommy Rogers stuff.

Yeah, as a CZW fan from just the TV, the Wildside & MS feuds felt HUGE because there's The Lost Boyz and Blackout or Ian Rotten and Nate Webb against the H8 Club and Mondo. Super Dragon and B-Boy coming East for Best of the Best '02. The IWS breakout in '04 was the last real gasp of it there. It'll never not be weird to me to see people talk about Owens-Zayn in the context of PWG or RoH, as though that's the origin.

I'm totally there as far as having time for wrestling too. But I guess I'm just not seeing as widespread discussion of wide breadths of wrestling among the 20-something crowd as we had back in the day. I guess wrestling reaches people differently now as well or people in general are just too busy. I doubt the newer generation is really seeking wrestling just for the sake of diversity of experience like we were. Part of it I think ties into how the Observer & other rallying points have changed over the years. Back then it really seems like the culture was all about seeking out more & more wrestling, now it seems more about the shared experience of discussing what everyone watches.

Naylor is gold on any podcast. Loved his idea about a compilation and a "good" man working on making that a reality.

This was an awesome show, I took the day off today so I drove around and gave it a listen. Really pumped for a Briscoes show as they are possibly my favorite tag team ever. Also if that comp idea comes to light I have my wallet open
