June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680162 Hey, first come , first served. There goes my idea of grabbing him and Jeff Sword. I've had them two on my list since about round ten. Fun little heel team...
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680163 So what were they thinking? What good is half of the Devil's Duo? The Devil's Single just doesn't have the same ring.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680164 That's the downside of doing a draft with this particular bunch. You think you have your own secret brilliant pick, then find that there are half a dozen people in the draft who have the exact same idea.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680166 If you want a list of actual jobber jobbers left on the list PM me.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680168 Is there any way you could post a list of all the remaining talent?
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680215 If you want a list of actual jobber jobbers left on the list PM me. This was wide open to anyone. Got a list of about 20 certified TV jobbers from AWA, Canada, WCCW, WWF, JCP, lots of places. I was taking jobbers out of my list of possible draftees as I was going along.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680221 Yeah, I had the Devil's Duo on my list too, just not high enough. I asked KrisZ if I could take them as a duo (HAH) too but they weren't together at this point. As for scouting, just a lot of reading for me. All the info I could find on ICW through Wikipedia, Kayfabe Memories, Online World of Wrestlng, a few wrestling magazines and dirtsheets I could find online too.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680223 I actually have 26 names on my list still of people I wouldn't mind having.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680226 We could get through the entire next round if the next 5-6 people make their picks fast enough. I have a LOT of people's picks towards the end & middle of Round 21 which means at the end of Round 21 when I have like 5-6 picks in a row I also have the first 5-6 picks of Round 22's snake. So uh yea if you are RocketCrypt, Jesse Ewiak, peachchaos, Beast, or JerryvonKramer and you aren't sure if you'd be around in 5-6 hours to make a pick you might want to leave me your pick because we could be halfway into Round 22 in the morning. (We are at the end of 20 now)
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680228 Boon wanted Southeastern Championship Wrestling to have really good looking wrestling programs too.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680243 Vinnie Valentino was struck from my list with GREAT prejudice for being the jobber who was responsible for wrestling barefoot against "savage" Samoans who were wrestling with boots on.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680245 Awesome! I thought you would go for Rocky Brewer, and without Spike Huber or Doug Vines I would pair him up with Jeff Sword as Garfunkle and Oates. Instead , you got Vinnie Valentino, and I have the even better idea of teaming them up as Oscar & Felix. My booking is pretty much writing itself at this point.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680247 Vic Rossitani (Vic Rain) is an interesting guy, I could find nothing on youtube and the only thing I have of him on DVD is a few shows from 1984 of him in Southeastern. Seems like he was a real journeyman brawler but used a lot more kicks than punches which made him stand out to me in the ring. Really only had a squash match, a couple clips of arena footage and a few promos try and explain him and sell him to Boon though. KrisZ do you have anything on this guy?
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680249 Oh! I forgot to write about MY pick! Terry Adonis! That is a really ugly trashy motherfucker and HE is the guy I was talking about when I said there were guys who looked like they were going to the All Star tapings from prison work release and still out working ancient "Uncle of Ricky Steamboat" Dean Ho. Here he is with a chinlock on Dylan's latest pick of Moondog Moretti.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680253 C'mon, couldn't even let me draft a jobber tag team AWA? Seriously couldn't leave Sword?
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680254 You would not have gotten to him, even if he went passed the AWA. He was in that post of 4 picks and I had to change it after Cross Face's post.

He was a old guy getting a rebirth as Vic Rain
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680257 He looked good off the very limited stuff that I have of his 1984 Southeastern run, although I know he was in his 40s. Still seemed like he could go. I should see if khawk knows about him.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680259 I actually did a lot of reading research on all the Montreal names listed. Lefebvre and Brito seemed like guys I wouldn't have trouble getting at all given their low profile outside of Quebec, and they seemed like major players. Poisson was a guy who seemed pretty big in the 70s and still had some name value. Posson in the 1987 match I could find was really slow in his chain wrestling and could barely move, so I'm hoping he was a bit better in 83. Brito seemed like he could go and Lefebvre had a nice "mad dog" heel schtick to go with being a good brawler. I'm getting this from under 10 minute matches, mostly squashes that I found on youtube. How they would have handled a longer match is something I'm going to have to dig deeper on. Louis Laurence really liked his headlocks in the one match I found, but I imagine he wasn't used to 9+ minutes of wrestling. Luckily he won't be controlling much of a match as a JTTS/lower midcard guy for me. Eddie Creatchman is quite the annoying weaselly manager and goes as far as to wear the Star of David prominently in what I can only assume is an attempt to get more cheap heat.

I have a documentary about Montreal wrestling that is in French and in the English subtitles it explains Eddie Creachman's character as something like "Rich jew who owns a junkyard" so yea I guess he played that part up.
June 23, 201510 yr comment_5680263 Creatchman was The Sheik's manager after The Grand Wizard. There's a funny skit when Wizard goes back to Detroit and they bicker. It has more shouting than any skit in wrestling history. Let me see if I can find it:
