June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678216 So have we decided how we are going to go about selecting the committee?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678219 Lowest average roster age. They would be the most forward looking NWA promoters and the best to handle matters going into the future.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678220 One thing I think is that non-NWA members shouldn't be able to see in-house discussions.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678234 Other than the President, how many spots on the committee are up for grabs?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678245 Is there a way to consolidate this whole discussion and break it down to which companies are in the NWA and then have the owners get together to make some guidelines like - how long a presidential term is - how will we vote on NWA champion - how to go about letting people into the NWA. Then we could vote on the President and even see if there are 2 or 3 spots that hold clout. I am thinking of something like the President gets 3 votes, the 2 vice presidents or whatever we call them get 2 votes, then the rest of the members get 1 vote kind of thing. Any thoughts?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678247 Kris might know, but at some point Jim Barnett was booking the champion as "treasurer" and the NWA President got the deciding vote if crucial things were ever tied up. For that reason, it would make sense to me for the "war council" to have an odd number of seats. 5 or 7 or 9. Otherwise the Presidential vote is not that powerful.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678249 I like the idea of the President not booking the champion - almost like we have the freelancer stuff going on. The president can be in control and take part in overall operations. We'd need a job for a third person... what could be other tasks that they could do without having fiscal responsibilities?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678262 Jim Barnett had resigned his post as treasurer by then. The NWA President then took over the bookings of the champion IIRC until Flair signed an exclusive deal with Crockett in 1985.
June 18, 201510 yr Author comment_5678297 When do we get to vote that picture of Teddy Hart and his cat off the island?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678324 So, why doesn't everybody list if they want to be president or part of the committee then we can set up polls and have everything set?
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678329 Eddie Graham does not intend to run for president, but would welcome a seat on the committee.
June 18, 201510 yr Author comment_5678340 Stu Hart prefers to book standing up, but will happily fill an empty seat if there is one available.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678348 Matt D should be the President which means taking everyone's PMs to coordinate the champion's dates, handling territory disputes and reading every single NWA member's TV report to make sure that they aren't disrespecting the NWA's name.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678349 That's an interesting idea for sure. Having an outsider in some kind of governing position may work well.
June 18, 201510 yr Author comment_5678355 Matt D as POTNWA is interesting, for sure. I think I may prefer this to any of us controlling the Championship tbh.
June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678356 If Joe Blanchard were an NWA member he would absolutely vote Matt D.
