June 18, 201510 yr comment_5678365 I would like to propose an idea where people can send in a "PWI style" headline about one of their feuds or another based off someone else's show.
June 25, 201510 yr Author comment_5681199 The Wrestling Review Newsletter will be released Sunday, July 10th ... two days earlier than expected. As always, send all news, results and reader letters via PM. All sources will remain anonymous if requested. Published by: Dave Keller.
June 25, 201510 yr comment_5681205 This is awesome. I was going to do a news letter called Dan Seltzer's the Wrestling Spectator but you have saved me the trouble. I will be sure to send you reports from Japan.
June 25, 201510 yr Author comment_5681209 Gives me something to do Sunday nights. Especially since I have a loose outline of the next 26 weeks of Memphis shows.
June 25, 201510 yr comment_5681220 I do think we should bring Johnny in and have him be our Bill Apter. He could come up with crazy headlines and news stories monthly or something.
June 25, 201510 yr Author comment_5681223 I'm not sure if I'm going to break kayfabe to a great extent. It'll probably take a few issues for me to flush out the style.
June 27, 201510 yr comment_5681603 We're breaking kayfabe. You can't write a dirt sheet without dirt.
June 27, 201510 yr comment_5681611 There did used to be newsletters that didn't break kayfabe I've read them.
June 29, 201510 yr comment_5682121 This needs to be a total kayfabe-breaking dirt sheet, complete with us submitting wrong info so you can blame the promoter for "changing his mind" =)
June 29, 201510 yr Author comment_5682134 Okay. Kayfabe is non-existent when it comes to Dave Keller's news and analysis
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683347 OK, Trav and I are going to be working on this together. I already have a few "stories" finished and if you want to send stories about your promotion, we'll put it in the newsletter. If you don't send anything in, we make shit up about you From now on, send anything you want in by Friday to me or Trav. I hope to have the newsletter posted by Sunday
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683357 Is this going to be similar to PWI? It would be fun to use the covers from that time and then make our own stories and rankings from each promotion to add in.
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683362 No, this is going to be like the Observer. Pure insider dirt with a little bit of news and analysis.
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683364 I already have some news blurbs sent in that are cracking me up. If you want a story in, do't write it like a promoter but more like a gossip columnist. Think of it as something Meltzer would put in the Observer because Dean Malenko or Arn Anderson called him up and gave him inside scoops.
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683365 Pure insider dirt with a little bit of news and analysis. This should be the tag line.
July 6, 201510 yr comment_5683366 Nice. IF anyone is up for the PWI thing, I'd be interested in that down the line. Could be fun to look at rankings. I recently got my hands on the fall 1983 PWI magazines and it is funny to see the WWF on the second pages of rankings in comparison to the AWA and NWA.
July 7, 201510 yr comment_5683597 Keep your stories coming!!! Some of them have really cracked me up. Others are just neat to read because it is completely imaginary backstage politics that could be real or not.
July 12, 201510 yr comment_5684452 If anyone else has anything to submit, now is the time. I am putting this together throughout the course of the day and plan to post it tonight. Some territories are getting more attention than others. Remember if you don't control your news stories, I get to control them
