Posted June 22, 201510 yr comment_5679694 Bulldog Brower vs. Curt Hennig (12/12/81)Hennig is young but green and has his moments against the old dog Brower but he would lose in the end although he did get his shoulder up at 2 without the referee seeing it.Rick Martel vs. "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe (12/12/81)The early part of this is built around Martel trying to work over Sharpe's legs and back with Sharpe trying to escape at every chance. This would soon turn into a back-and-forth battle until Sharpe took a spill outside the ring where his foot would get caught in the ropes causing him to get counted out.Killer Khan vs. Tony Garea (12/12/81)Kal Rudman talkin about how handsome Garea & Martel were was hilarious. Khan pounded on Garea early which pissed him off so he started fiercely working over his left leg. Khan though would start back clubbering Garea again both in and out of the ring. Garea came back in and fought back but got pinned after Khan cut back a bodyslam into a cradle.WWF Heavyweight Title: Bob Backlund © vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (12/12/81)You could hear the fans are starting to turn on Backlund some as his reaction isn't as big as it used to be. This is a slugfest from the bell as both men throw punches in bunches before Valentine dropped to the floor which was just a ploy to bait Bob into getting his legs taken out with Valentine wrapping the left leg around the ringpost. Valentine was ruthless working over the leg and Backlund was good at selling the punishment but he was also good at getting the hope spots like an inside cradle for a nearfall and getting into a fistfight trying to get back up. Backlund would give Valentine a kneebreaker as payback and then he started working over Greg's left leg with Valentine being great at selling it. Valentine would eventually get to the floor to recover but as he came back in the ring he would eat a suplex before going back to the floor again. Backlund would fall for his bait yet again and joined him on the floor where he would get posted forcing the juice. Valentine then would play King of the Mountain pounding on Backlund every time he tried to get back in the ring. Backlund would finally get back in the ring and he went nuts on Valentine who was doing his best to stay on the floor and away from Backlund before beatng him back into the ring to win by countout. The pacing here was so good and the work was great too with the right amount of brawling and legwork. This is a fairly easy nomination to me.Dick Graham interviews Angelo Mosca next and it's funny because Mosca calls him out for calling him Don Muraco way too much. Mosca talks about his football history and working in wrestling. Mosca is a complete babyface here which is funny since he was still a heel.Kal Rudman then interviews Andre the Giant and this is a fun interview where they talk about money, Japan, and working as a babyface.Rudman interviews Albano next with Fuji & Saito behind him and this is hilarious as they just argue the whole time.Handicap Match: Andre the Giant & Tony Atlas vs. Mr. Fuji, Mr. Saito, & Captain Lou Albano (12/12/81)It was what you would expect it to be which was a fun match full of schtick from both sides.WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title: Pedro Morales © vs. Magnificent Muraco (12/12/81)Muraco is pissed at Pedro so he just starts kicking the shit out of him as soon as he gets in the ring. Pedro would make a fiery comeback though getting juice from Muraco who would get a backdrop suplex on Pedro but Morales would spring off the ropes getting his shoulders up as Muraco was counted out. Muraco got pissed and clocked Pedro with the belt afterwards. This didn't even go 4 minutes but was a fun spirited brawl.Pat Patterson vs. "King Kong" Angelo Mosca (12/12/81)These two are blowing off their feud and they have a decent enough match with Patterson getting an inside cradle to win. Mosca was pissed and chased Dick Woerhle out of the ring as Patterson wished everyone a Merry Christmas.
