Dusty vs Gino

I was looking forward to this. I was kind of expecting a Tully type of match. Then I realized the heat was on Gino and Lewin not Dusty. With that said I really enjoyed the 1st fall. It had a lot of energy. Some really fun spots. Loved the kick to Gino ass and he bumped to the top rope. The 2nd fall just went way too long. The fun wasn't there. The 3rd fall was just a finish. These guys do have a good 12 minute match in them.

I actually really liked Bugsy vs Lewin. Very effective stuff. It's no blip. Lewin was definitely way more over than Dusty in Houston, at least on that night. Same crowd. Same audio. It gives us a sense of how much Dusty was NOT over, actually. It wasn't just the way the mic-ing was that night. I like Lewin so much more as a babyface than a heel and McGraw played his role well. This was 13 minutes and angle-centric, but it was all really solid.

Was listening to something Cornette talking about Jose Lothario and he mentioned that Jose used to be a boxer before getting into wrestling. I almost think that makes his great working punches even MORE impressive since most guys who have come from a legit fighting background have not been able to transition to having good looking worked strikes.

Al Madril had a great heel line once about Jose Lothario being a boxer. Someone named JDC posted this once:

"I remember Madril had a guest shot on the mic during one of Jose's matches and Al told Steve Stack (or JACK STACK according to Arman) that Jose was a professional boxer. Steve replied "he was a very good, top boxer." Madril said "Yeah, he boxed oranges down in McAllen." Al was always good for a one liner that would put you on the floor."

Bock vs Atlas

This has no commentary so I believe it has never been seen before. I was really curious with what Bock could get out of Atlas. Matt D and I were chatting and he said that it felt like Bock was working with Atlas like someone who could beat him, and not just a monster. I really agree with him. Flair I feel would have done the Sting formula with him. Here Bock was great as the World Champ. Their was no begging off. It was the champ versus #1 contender. We start off with some exchanging of holds and Atlas takes control on Bock's arm. He works it over for a bit, and then transitions onto the leg. Bock reverses it and delivers 6 quick nasty punches to Tony's leg. I really liked Bock's work on the leg. It was very rugged. Tony's comeback is good and he incorporates some leg selling here. He does drop it a bit but not overtly bad. Toward the finish it gets pretty hot. Bock is busted open and is great at the long term selling the match. I loved the finish. This was a great Bock performance, and I want to say my favorite Tony Atlas match I've seen. 3 1/2*

Gino vs Slater

This was worked pretty interesting. Slater didn't do a traditional shine. Gino would work spots and Slater would one up him. This happened for the majority of the match. Gino throws liquid in Slater's eyes to set up the heat. Gino hits him with a loaded fist for the 3. The crowd is going crazy. Gino attacks Slater post match and the ref reverses his decision. A different way to work the bout. Got a lot of reactions.

Just to let you know - we've had to slow down a bit because we are putting so much time and effort into getting the Roku app done. And this time it will be a reality. Also - in about two weeks we are moving the operation to Colorado - so the uploads will be suspended for a few days while we make the move and set up in our new location. But we aren't going anywhere - the WWE isn't going to buy is out - and we have big things planned for the future.
