Rocky then started working over Muraco with punches and other strikes before Muraco would get to the floor where he could stall for a while. Muraco would turn the tide though hitting his tombstone piledriver but Rocky would kick out at 2 so Muraco did a splash off the top like Snuka and got all knees. Rocky then tries to finish off Muraco getting some nearfalls but Muraco always found a way to get out before finding himself in a sleeper hold. The crowd is going nuts here as Muraco breaks free a couple of times but ends up back in the hold for a 3rd time and this time he goes down to the mat with the bell ringing.....The fans fully believe that Rocky won the title but the bell was ringing for the curfew and best yet USA Network ended their feed before a decision was announced so the fans fully believed that Rocky won the title. Hilarious.Salvatore Bellomo vs. Swede Hanson (9/18/82)UGH this matchup again....this was not good.Pat Patterson vs. Bob Orton Jr. (9/18/82)This had a good start as Patterson got a really quick nearfall on an O'Connor Roll that sent Orton to the floor to recover. Patterson gets a sunset flip for a nearfall and Orton decides to come back with punches but Patterson would survive the flurry and came back with punches of his own while Orton was laying on the top rope. Patterson would then lock on the figure-four leglock and Orton quickly gets to the ropes to break free. Patterson doesn't quit though and wraps Orton's left leg across the ringpost a couple of times as the fans go crazy. Orton would catch Patterson though with a knee in the gut and used it to get the advantage then followed up with kneedrops to Patterson's upper body with the last one hurting himself. Orton then went for a Superplex but Patterson blocked it although he ate a press slam for his trouble. There would be a big collision sending Pat to the floor and he would get on the apron with a sunset flip back into the ring to get the win. I loved Orton's selling here and he was fun with his hybrid Race/Terry Funk style of working. Patterson was fun running around the ring trying to use cradles to put away Orton. Good punches here by both guys and this was worked like a true grudge match as it was an all-action sprint not a bunch of matwork. Solid nomination.Charlie Fulton vs. Jeff Craney (9/18/82)Good to see Fulton get a win.2 out of 3 Falls: Jose Estrada & Johnny Rodz vs. Tony Garea & Steve Travis (9/18/82)Dick & Kal sure love to talk about how good looking Garea and Travis are. The 1st fall was really damn good as the babyfaces were fiery throwing some really good punches and the heels were so so good at bumping and selling making everything look smooth. The heels though got their time to shine too and this was very back and forth. This was about as close to a Southern style workrate tag match as you were ever going to get in the WWF in this era. The faces won the first fall and were looking strong in the 2nd one before Rodz got his knees up on a Garea splash and pinned him. The 3rd fall then went fairly quickly until Estrada caught Travis with a flying elbow smash. I loved this match when we did the original set and I love it even more now....this match could've easily been on the Memphis set and fit in. Solid nomination.
