Posted July 22, 201510 yr comment_5686720 WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title: Pedro Morales © vs. "Playboy" Buddy Rose (9/18/82)This was a total showcase of Buddy's greatness of bumping and selling as Pedro didn't do much of anything other than punching and Rose was making him look like a whirlbeater. Buddy would go on offense and worked a sweet hammerlock for a bit on the mat before starting to bite Pedro's fingers as he was working a wristlock. The match would then go to the floor where Rose would give Pedro a bodyslam but Pedro would pop up and came back in firing away on Rose who was bumping like crazy as the fans went nuts. Pedro would send the match back to the floor and started bashing Buddy's head on the railing before throwing him back in the ring where Rose would beat the count and got the win. This was a really strong Buddy performance and Pedro looked good here as well. I want to put this on the block as a low-end nomination.
June 18Jun 18 comment_6031432 BUDDY ROSE vs PEDRO MORALES (09/18/1982; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum; 00:22:18) - The Grand Wizard is combing Buddy’s hair, making Pedro wait so Pedro just attacks and Buddy bails. Buddy avoids a monkey flip with a cartwheel and starts strutting. He does it again but this time Pedro slams him. This is why I love Buddy Rose and don’t always love Backlund or Muraco. With Rose, there is always a payoff. Rose grabs a wrist and starts stomping Pedro’s face. Then he switches to a Fujiwara variation and starts cranking the arm then switches to a hammerlock and puts knees into the back and arm. Always working. THAT’S THE DIFFERENCE. When the ref makes him break, he stomps a mudhole on Pedro’s arm. The crowd starts coming alive so Rose turns away and bites Pedro’s fingers while in the arm lock. Buddy is so awesome. Pedro was out of the ring so Buddy comes out and rams his back against the ring post and body slams him on the concrete. Pedro comes back in fighting and the crowd erupts. Buddy bumps like a madman. He does his nasty head first bump to the outside. As they were fighting outside, Buddy rolled inside before the ten count and won by count out. I thought this was great. SOLID NOMINATION.
