The fans were booing Backlund here which showed that Snuka was starting to get more popular. Snuka smiling as the fans went nuts for him was great and the fans were just killing poor Bob here. Kal Rudman's explanation of why Snuka was over was fantastic and truthful saying the fans loved his flying around the ring. Lots of back and forth jockeying for position work early on from these two as Snuka was working to Backlund's strengths. Snuka would hit the first big move of the match with a big piledriver for a nearfall and he would start working over Bob's neck and back. Bob though would fight back and got some nearfalls before reversing another Snuka piledriver with a backdrop where he held Snuka down to get the pin. Snuka had his foot under the ropes though and the fans were booing like crazy but the decision wasn't changed. Backlund offered his hand to Snuka after the match and Snuka shook his hand along with Jones & Skaaland. Backlund would then give Snuka his towel which read "WWF Champion" on it as the fans went nuts. Snuka played to the crowd after the match and a star was born. The match was kinda non descript as a lot of it was on the mat but the angle afterwards was big....I think this should be on the set but maybe as an extra.Next we get a promo with Dick Graham and Salvatore Bellomo and this was interesting to say the least. Then we get Kal Rudman interviewing Pat Patterson about transitioning from wrestling to announcing.WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title: Pedro Morales © vs. "Playboy" Buddy Rose (9/18/82)This was a total showcase of Buddy's greatness of bumping and selling as Pedro didn't do much of anything other than punching and Rose was making him look like a whirlbeater. Buddy would go on offense and worked a sweet hammerlock for a bit on the mat before starting to bite Pedro's fingers as he was working a wristlock. The match would then go to the floor where Rose would give Pedro a bodyslam but Pedro would pop up and came back in firing away on Rose who was bumping like crazy as the fans went nuts. Pedro would send the match back to the floor and started bashing Buddy's head on the railing before throwing him back in the ring where Rose would beat the count and got the win. This was a really strong Buddy performance and Pedro looked good here as well. I want to put this on the block as a low-end nomination.2 out of 3 Falls: Andre the Giant, Chief Jay & Jules Strongbow vs. Blackjack Mulligan, Mr. Fuji, & Mr. Saito (9/18/82)Mulligan is subbing for Mighty Joe Thunder who worked WWF TV for a week and was gone. Andre wearing a black glove to counter Mulligan was classic and the story of him using the claw was the best part of the match. The match mainly stunk other than the Andre/Mulligan story which was really good and the fans went crazy for it.Pete Sanchez vs. Mac Rivera (10/16/82)It went about 5 minutes and was nothing really.Curt Hennig vs. "The Unpredictable" Johnny Rodz (10/16/82)This was a fun little match with both men looking good in their own way especially Rodz with some solid punches and kneedrops. They kept up a really good pace and Hennig would win with a flash inside cradle. Kal Rudman talking about Hennig's good looks was extra creepy though.
