Well technically he returned to an All Elite show running Arena Mexico, but it's the same deal they did with La Parka when he returned. Considering they were building him as the top heel against Rey Jr this is a pretty embarrassing moment for AAA.

It's crazy how 2015 was supposed to be AAA's year and in many ways it's just been horrible for them, although I think their business is still good/growing despite all that.

 

Anything that gets CMLL out of its current malaise is a good thing. Those couple weeks with Park and Wagner were electrifying. That said, it's yet another short-term fix (and who knows how long it lasts until he storms out of CMLL too) for a promotion with fundamental problems that will likely continue to go unaddressed, but at least we will probably get some fun shows out of it. A Rush/Mistico program would be nice.

 

Will be interesting to see who AAA promotes to the top rudo spot now.

I haven't seen any of Mysteziz (outside of the short shots of him and Cage doing the unmasked teasing stuff) since the heel turn.

 

How's he been in the role? Any notable performances as a rudo?

 

I'd be curious to know how he's handled the transition. Would it be considered a misguided step or a fresh adaptation for the guy?

That would be incredibly short-sighted even for CMLL... so I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Him, and there are some others I have heard are close as well. But, the door swings both ways and I've heard of a few Luchadors who are close to leaving CMLL.

It seems like they all get fed up with the promoters at the same time and jump back to the other side.

 

It really makes me sad that I can't get into AAA. I tried really hard last year when Averno and Mistico jumped ship. But I just can't do it for some reason. I'll take sucky CMLL shows over good AAA shows any day and I've never been able to force myself to change that.

It's known that Mistico II is a different guy (and subsequently that Dragon Lee II is a different guy).

Fans in Mexico were behind the times until the early 00's but nowadays they are as sophisticated as your average WWE or New Japan fan. As a random example, everybody knew Silver King was Black Tiger back in 2001. Before that, only the Arena Mexico fans were "smart fans" so to speak.

It's odd he would jump when he was being programmed for what would certainly be a huge Triplemania match with Rey.

So there was a press conference deal to announce his new name (apparently WWE is fighting him on the Sin Cara name, imagine that) and his new CMLL name is..... Mistic 2.0.

 

I guess that tells us two things:

 

1. Mistico II is probably boned.

 

2. We should all apologize to AAA for saying the name they came up with was the dumbest one you could think of.

I was expecting something foolish like Sin Mistico but Mistic 2.0 exceeded it.

I was hoping for Misticara personally.

So to recap here, he's the guy who while one of the biggest draws in the world told CMLL he was going on vacation for a few days and signed with WWE. Then acts like a primadonna in WWE and is generally an embarrassment to the second in command of the company who signed him as a pet project. Finally he ends up in AAA when they are the top company in Mexico and proceeds to fuck *that* up by pissing off Alberto to the point there was legit concern Alberto might kill the guy.

I don't think that ADR stuff really mattered. He quit AAA they didn't dump him. If I had to guess a reason why they probably wanted him to lose his mask or he just didn't want to be a rudo.
