Was just looking through WrestlingData and found out about Tamura's stay in TPW after he left UWFi and overlapping by several months with his start in RINGS. He had some matches there against opponents you would never expect:

TPW @ Atami
1996/07/23 @ Atami, Shizuoka (Japan)
Brazo de Oro and Brazo de Plata defeated Kiyoshi Tamura and Shocker
TPW @ Maebashi
1996/07/27 @ City Gymnasium in Maebashi, Gunma (Japan)
Sabu defeated Kiyoshi Tamura

TPW @ Niigata
1996/09/19 @ City Gymnasium in Niigata, Niigata (Japan)
Abdullah the Butcher defeated Kiyoshi Tamura
Here is the full list.
I assume there's no footage available of any of this stuff? Seems bizarre that he'd leave UWFi purportedly over not wanting to work with NJPW, then go do the job for guys like Sabu and Abdullah. Is this the only time in his career that he worked pro style?

Yes I am one of them. You guys can always send me PMs with questions and corrections (or mails, once the mail server is back up).

There needs to be a WAR handheld so I can find out if this Shinobu fellow worked there as well. Of course right now I can't find my Lynch list nor my 1999 mook. At least I recently scanned some old German newsletter so I have all early Picksi stuff from Mid-98 onwards.

The emotional roller coaster I just went through learning that Tamura wrestled Sabu, Abby and Super Porky only to immediately find out that a mistake was made and it didn't actually happen was devastating.

Well, it's not QUITE the same but there is a Nobuhiko Takada vs Abdullah match on the aforementioned 10/8/96 Tokyo Pro show. It's as awful as you might imagine and ends with

That match is quite the collection of LOL and WTF moments. Butcher's verbal selling of the kicks (pretty sure that's the most damage he had taken in a match in ages), the pin attempts, the crowd actually cheering for Butcher at one point, the ref wearing a Juventus t-shirt.

Back in the day I didn't know that Takada took the match for a lot of money to help out UWFi's struggling finances so I assumed he must have had YAKUZA DEBTS or something like that.
