So tonight's Hell in a Cell and I'm not surprised there's been little discussion of it around these parts (or other forums I frequent or Facebook). It definitely feels like Taker/Brock "III" should be a much bigger deal, especially considering how big their SummerSlam match felt going into it (and how much I think the general consensus was that it was pretty awesome in the moment and delivered).
Not having Brock/Taker on many shows together and not having them do another big pull-apart brawl (granted, doing it again wouldn't have been original anyway) or some other sort of "add feul to the fire" angle was a real misstep here. It also doesn't help matters that you've got Cena in an unadvertised match (and one rumoured to be his last for a month or two). Considering that this might be Cena's last appearance for awhile, you would want some eyeballs on it. My prediction is that he actually retains tonight and drops the title on RAW in some sort of big show-ending angle, but, to me, this is exactly the type of thing you should be trying to get people to subscribe to the Network for.

This is a quote from DMJ so here you go bud... your very own HIAC thread.

Tonight's matches...

Cesaro, Neville & Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev, Sheamus & Wade Barrett (Kickoff Match)

Kevin Owens vs. Ryback (IC Title)

Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella (Divas Title)

New Day vs. Dudley Boyz (Tag title)

John Cena Open Challenge (US Title)

Seth Rollins vs. Kane (World Title)

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt (Hell in A Cell)

Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar (Hell In A Cell)

So with Orton injured they took Ambrose vs Wyatts off the card?

If they don't have a really good idea for the Open Challenge writing Cena off TV, they could do a lot worse than putting the belt on Ambrose as the new face of America for a few months. Do the open challenges and everything. I had thought they were building to Ziggler with the accidental superkick a few weeks ago and what not, but I guess they didn't lean into that.

This card looks dreadful to me. Rusev in a six-man opener is sad. Ryback makes sure I don't give a shit about Owens. Dudz make sure I don't give a shit about the New Days. Kane makes sure I don't give a shit about Rollins. Roman vs Bray I sure don't give a shit either way. Charlotte vs Nikki, well, can't say I'm too interested, but still way more than the other stuff. Taker vs Lesnar gets morbid curiosity out of me. I only hope for a cool debut to face Cena and get the US belt. But I'm not really getting my hopes up either.

WWE in 2015. Yep.

The only thing I hope is that the finish of Bray vs Roman is as stupid as the blow off match on most matches involving Bray Wyatt in some way. Hopefully he gets distracted by a Dean Ambrose hologram that is carrying an exploding TV

I hope Scott Keith is correct because they other predictions for Cena's opponent like Jericho, Shemaus, and Big Show makes me want to puke

The Cena challenge stuff seems pretty interesting and one of the few genuine surprise things in the company that could provide long term benefits depending on what they go with.

Taker vs. Brock actually intrigues me after the shockingly good SummerSlam match, I just hope that A. they don't go very long since the SUmmerSlam match lost a lot of steam for me once they went kickout heavy and B. Brock goes over setting up something intriguing for himself going forward.

Looking forward to the main event quite a bit. Can't imagine they'll go with anyone who's been a regular on TV recently in the Cena challenge which has me thinking NXT or someone returning. Also clear that Reigns is still earmarked for a huge spot at Mania, so presumably they'll start trying to make him look ready for that at some point -- perhaps tonight?

Undercard also looks acceptable. Bottom line, this looks like a sneaky great show or one that will wildly disappoint. Not expecting middle of the road.

I have this feeling Taker/Brock will have an inconclusive finish, not to carry the feud further, but to set Lesnar (and possibly Taker) on their own paths towards their Mania opponents. I just can't see them jobbing out Taker when they are going to count partially on the idea Taker might have his last match and he shouldn't lose on his way there BUT having Lesnar lose again is idiocy as well.

Is there any match on the entire card that isn't a rematch? Everything on here feels like it's been done to death. Well, except for Kane/Rollins; and who the hell are you even supposed to cheer in that one? Seth is a neutered joke of a champion, but Kane is far from being a sympathetic character himself.
