Regarding the Lloyds Of London claims, it seems like Brian Adams was another who had a policy, as was Nikita Koloff.

Yep you are correct on Nikita but Adams I'm not sure of

Re: Adams - in Meltzer's obituary of him, he says that he suffered a career ending spine injury in All Japan in 2003 and was believed to be collecting on a Lloyds of London permanent disability settlement.

"Hollywood" John Tatum was great, and I particularly liked the Tatum & Victory combo.

 

Shimmer really was the revolution before there was a revolution. The current NXT/WWE women's wrestling dynamic simply doesn't happen without Shimmer.

 

Meltizer was definitely being picky, but ECW conversations then and even now tend be so ideologically loaeded that it can be difficult to have a reasonable conversation about the company's strenghts and weaknesses.

I mentioned this to Bix and Kris privately yesterday but I remember being in Zambia and watching CMLL TV in a local channel with their own commentators. This would have been in 2011.

 

Also I was the guy who said that Kawada's ramen shop wasn't very good. He's the cook and his wife is the waitress. As anybody that has seen him recently can attest, he doesn't look like Kawada: no shoulders, chest or arms, and when I saw him he was clean shaven and had TEETH. He looked like a stoic surly fucker though so there's that. Good on him for moving on and becoming a civilian.

Loving the show so far. Much looser than normal with all the jokes & drug talk. It's like Prazak was locked up somewhere & just was let loose to talk and has all this built up.

'96 Cornette was evidently flashing back to the days of less quality control: there's a TBS interview where he makes the exact same burglar-rape joke, about Baby Doll.

It's actually a Rodney Dangerfield joke. Pretty sure Cornette told it on the "Backstage at the Bash 1987".
