I sent him the ones you sent me. I had a hard time getting them to read on my PC too, they would only read thru DVD Shrink. I sent you the DVD-R pack I couldn't use plus the copies I made with my discs. The copies I made for myself work in my DVD player.

*edit* to be sure, you should have got the spindle that was mostly Silver-faced discs and about 8-10 Memorex's with your AJ Classics Hansen disc on top.

This is his message. Can someone with more burning experience step in and maybe tell me what exactly is the problem here? Attempting to trade for me has been nothing short of one disaster after another and it's extremely frustrating.

I've got some good news and some bad news. Good news is that the DVDs arrived today and UPS didn't charge anything. Bad news is that a large majority of the discs aren't being properly read by my computer. The discs only show up as having 100-300 megs of data on each. The DVD program sees the ifo file so it shows the correct time for each disc, but if I try to go past the first 5 minutes, there's nothing. I tried them on 2 different computers, same deal. I've never seen this problem before, nor have I heard of it. This is a problem for a couple reasons. Number one is that I can't copy the discs, which means I won't be able to trade/sell those shows. Secondly, I use my computer to watch DVDs, as it's more convenient for me than a DVD player, which isn't a whole lot better than a VCR as far as convenience goes. Unfortunately, there are a lot of discs with this problem. I went through everything and wrote it down, only 11 shows were unaffected, while 3 or 4 others had 1 disc working, and the other disc screwed up.

His post is the same thing I was getting when I tried to play them in my PC as well.

Did he try them in a standalone DVD player? I know the discs work, because all the copies I made for myself work.

I think the problem is the way your recorder organizes files on a DVD seems to be different than the usual layout, and it seems to confuse PC DVD players/burners that expect every disc to have the same files in the same place.
