December 13, 20159 yr comment_5715335 I wish the Like option was enabled so I could Like the post Ricky just made.
December 13, 20159 yr Author comment_5715337 Cena did wear tights when he debuted in WWE, but they were so incredibly generic that the jean shorts were a step up.
December 13, 20159 yr comment_5715338 What does that even mean? A lot of looks work for a lot of guys. Doesn't mean it looks good or I gotta like it. Your gruff old wrestling fan gimmick is obnoxious I was thinking the same thing lol
December 13, 20159 yr comment_5715340 As much as I would like Cena to switch his gear up, it is way too late to be switching to tights. The jorts and sneakers look is a trademark of his. The only way that I could possibly see it happening is if he ever turns heel, and even that's starting to look unlikely.
December 13, 20159 yr comment_5715341 I think that anyone who doesn't wear proper wrestling boots looks like their ankles are too skinny. Both Cena and Lesnar are victims of this. If you aren't going to wear boots, the only way to go is no footwear at all. Worst ring attire is probably someone from World of Sport. They often had like cloth rather than proper lycra. And cloth on a wrestler always looks saggy, lame and homemade. Sort of like Peter Parker's wrestling suit when he faces Randy Savage in that movie.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715373 Beefcake fit the gimmick, and started ok, but by the end of his 80s run those pants were really getting unsettling. I always thought Jannety looked ridiculous in the mega tassel overload rockers gear he would wear in the 90s. Probably not bad enough for worst but Savage seemed much cooler before he got the tassel bug and full bodysuits. I'm thinking the WM X gear. Modern day... I think it's part of his gimmick ... but Bo Dallas with the all white and the recent weight gain is not a pleasing sight. Didn't Savage switch to the body suits to hide how small he got when he got off the gas? My vote for worst ring attire goes to Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart in 1998 WCW. He wore that Hart Foundation leather jacket from the WWF the previous year and the logo had flaked or peeled off in patches. It's what you'd expect to see at a tiny local indy show, not on a major cable program from a national promotion. Triple H's old purple vinyl tights from the fall of 1998 were pretty awful, too.

Yeah I'm sure that's why Savage did it. I don't hate some of them, just when he goes overboard with the tassels like that Jannetty pic earlier. Speaking of HHH, I think he was wearing these due to a groin/thigh injury of some sort, but it just didn't work:
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715518 Only somewhat on topic, but do wrestlers realize how bad they look when their ponytail sort of loosens up but doesn't all the way during a match? Or someone like Jack Swagger, who usually looks electrocuted within two minutes of the bell? poor Mongo McMichael. His ponytail always came loose during his matches
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715542 The first names that came to mind were EZ Money and the Cruel Connection

December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715545 HBK...Survivor Series 2002 Elimination Chamber. That brown just was awful.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715547 Is JJ Aztec warrior better or worse? http://photos.imageevent.com/sharpshootercollectibles/wwewwfpromophotos/Jeff%20Jarrett%20P-434.jpg
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715551 Better. He took off the top part and it became the trunks he's worn for the rest of his career, which are just fine.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715568 Zack Ryder was a douche-y guy, so he had douche-y ring gear. Jarrett's was ridiculous but it kinda worked for him. The problem was you couldn't take him too serious while he wrestled in that. But then, when he came back with the more straight forward look, he was just too bland to take seriously anyway. So, I prefer the prior look.

The only way that I could possibly see it happening is if he ever turns heel, and even that's starting to look unlikely. I think it was Austin's podcast where Cena told the story of him ordering a bunch of new ring gear in preparation for a proposed heel turn. Apparently it fell through and he basically gave that money to NXT as a way to reward people with new gear for reaching some sort of goal. He said that if he went heel that he'd change his look to more traditional wrestling gear.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715618 Someone brought up Double J's outfits and yea he wins it: God, he just looks so much like Sara Undertaker. I wonder if Taker ever thought that...
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715621 There was some team in WCW late 90's that I either saw on Nitro or Thunder that wore some sort of long sleeve black pantyhose see thru shirts that looked awful. I only saw them once as they kind of looked like High Voltage. I forgot who they jobbed to.

December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715645 Forgive me if I missed it, but has nobody mentioned Demolition yet? Dressing as The Gimp from Pulp Fiction equals worst ring attire of all time.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715647 Demolition were really just smaller versions of Lord Humongous with face paint instead of a hockey mask.
December 14, 20159 yr comment_5715662 I don't think anybody fell further than Randy Savage going from awesome capes, sunglasses, 3 star tights and taped fingers (just see the iconic t-shirt, obviously) to the ridiculous cowboy hats and "off the juice" body suits. It was sad. Like Elvis in the leisure suits.
