New Day defeats Usos and Lucha Dragons by Man Throws a Trombone in 25:00

I'd hate to be the thing to follow that.

New Day is the best act in the company, and that could've been a turning point for Kalisto hitting the spot of the year.

I can't believe he actually threw a trombone at another human being.

Usos vs. Lucha Dragons vs. New Day – Ladder Match for the Tag Titles

- Pretty nutty spotfest. Stupid wrestlers doing stupid shit. Fun… but stupid.

Wow what an incredible match. Was it the best opening PPV ladder match ever I am not sure with that 2006 Armaggedon tag ladder match but just insane. The Lucha Dragons were awesome and Xaiver Woods should be nominated for best commentator of the year after leaving Cole, Lawler, and JBL in the dust.

Guy in the crowd with a "Survivor Series 2013 sucked" sign. Sucked so bad he bought a ticket to another PPV card?

New Day vs Usos vs Lucha Dragons (Ladder Tag Title) - Good match that had some very ill advised spots. The Sin Cara swanton to the floor and Kalisto finisher through the ladder come to mind. Big E benching the ladder ruled though.

I want to confirm that I thought those ill advised spots were great. But still stupid.

Yeah, the spots seemed irresponsible given the amount of the roster already injured and the proximity to Wrestlemania.

Lawler shooting about marriage is cracking me up.

The wide shot visual of Big E bench pressing the ladder with Kalisto climbing it looked incredible.

Rusev vs. Ryback

- Besides the horrible booking, I think Rusev loses something by wearing boots. Nothing match but nothing was going to follow the stunt show. Glad Rusev won though.

You could hear a pin drop for Rusev before and after the match. Probably a worthy response to the match that followed, which wasn't exactly Vader/Boss at Spring Stampede.

Rusev vs Ryback - Decent match. Rusev was good. Not a huge fan of Ryback using aerial offense in that match.

I also thought it was okay. Wasn't anything special but was never going to be. Curious where they are going with this Lana fakes injuries angle.

Wow, a complete no-sell of that minute-long Patriot Lock by Del Rio.

These chairs matches are the worst. Painful without having a point.

Not as bad as Swagger selling the Terry Funk throwing chairs on a laying body spot by Del Rio like he was taking a nap.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger (Chairs Match)

- Nice fiery start from Swagger ramming Del Rio into the chairs outside. I liked Alberto’s counter to the Vade rBomb shoving a chair into Swagger’s throat. Del Rio damaging the back with the lung blower and then countering Swagger later with the back breaker was pretty smart. The ankle chair lock was cute. I even like the Swagger Bomb finally connecting on the third try. Third time’s the charm. The setup for the stupid corner stomp was actually pretty clever. The crowd didn’t care but I thought this was actually a pretty good match all things considered.

Del Rio vs .Swagger

 

I couldn't possibly care less about this match, probably the thing I was least interested in. I don't get that whole ankle lock sequence. It looked like Del Rio was looking under the ring for a prop but it wasn't where he expected it to be so they just did something else instead. This was not very good and the crowd didn't care. I actually like a lot of Del Rio's mannerisms and his general heel-ish attitude he brings but his matches aren't doing anything for me right now.

Del Rio vs Swagger (Chairs US Title) - Way better than it should have been. Easily the best WWE Chairs match ever. Not the greatest praise but still was good than bad.
