Posted December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717821 I've been thinking about this watching all the young Kiyoshi Tamura matches. Who are some of your favorite/the best young wrestlers ever? I'm thinking first 2-3 years of their career? Gut reaction is Tamura, Kobashi, and Akiyama. Who else was a great rookie/youngster?
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717869 It's arguable that the first 2-3 years were the best years of Angle's career, always enjoyed him then. Danielson was pretty great a year or two into his career. Too early to say for sure at the moment, but isn't Chad Gable only a year into his career? He could be an answer when we run this process again in 10yrs
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717890 Jumbo, Funaki, Juventud Guerrera, Dynamite Kid, Sean Waltman, Curt Henning.
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717903 Ricky Steamboat is the slam dunk answer, if you've ever seen the stuff from 78, you'd now why I say that.
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717919 Katsuhiko Nakajima and Milano Collection A.T. are two modern-ish candidates. Nakajima was hanging with Kobashi and Sasaki at age 17, a year after his debut, and Milano was legitimately very good when he debuted with the T2P class. Better than YOSSINO or Ryo Saito.

He would be eligible in only 2 years from now if he was worthy of it.
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717936 Danielson was pretty amazing by 2002 when he was three years in. Arguably top ten in the world level good.
December 29, 20159 yr comment_5717940 Ohtani always gets overlooked. Was really good as early as 22-23 years old.

Certainly we'll be able to make a judgement on him in general in a couple of years
December 30, 20159 yr comment_5718018 I haven't rewatched the early stuff in quite some time, but I always remember the Briscoe Brothers (especially Jay) being pretty good right off the bat, especially if you focus on them in the context of the indy boom and the style that was being developed there.
January 1, 20169 yr comment_5718230 Sean Waltman?? He debuted in late 89 and was having great matches in 90/91. Complete natural.
January 1, 20169 yr comment_5718235 Volk Han, Dragon Lee, Jerry Lawler. Lee is only 19. Lawler went from setting up the ring, to being a ref, to wrestling in a matter of weeks. He had his first main event feud like 2 years in.
January 1, 20169 yr Author comment_5718238 I see OJ is reading this thread and I want to steal his thunder and say Young Davey Boy Smith
