Since I will be thirty this year, enjoy writing about wrestling and wanted to focus my ideas in terms of what I covered, I've decided to start a project were I will cover a large selection of the wrestling TV that was aired during 1986, the year I was born. WWF, NWA, CWA, Mid-South and AWA will be the main areas I cover.

The first post is up - http://tvtimelimitremaining.co.uk/a-wrestling-year-01-01-1986-07-01-1986-part-1/ as I watch action from Mid-South, CWA, WWF Wrestling Challenge and NWA World Championship Wrestling.

Please look and comment - this is quite a big project, so any interactions will be most welcome.

The second part of the second week in 1986 includes a Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title match and an odd squash featuring George Steele and Moondog Spot.

I've found some CWF on my computer, so the next column (possibly tomorrow) will sweep up the first two shows of their year.

Just thought I'd comment here.

This is an amazing project. And I'm glad you are doing it.

One thing that stood out to me:

Considering Mr Fuji is pretty old and useless, Muraco’s decision to team with him is baffling

On that two-part Mr. Fuji show we did before, I counted how many in-ring appearances made after becoming a manager. And the number of tag and handicap tag appearances he has is really quite a lot. He is even having matches as late as 1991.

We speculated that kayfabe-wise, no one had told Fuji to hang them up and he was delusional. Gorilla would always talk him up as a wrestler too.

And we also speculated that in real life, perhaps this was because either 1. Vince had it written into his contract that he had to make a certain number of dates in the ring (see also, number of Bobby Heenan's in-ring appearances), or 2. Fuji got a bigger pay day if he wrestled as well as managed, and wanted the extra money.

Christ, I'm a sad person! Ha ha.

Cheers - I appreciate the kind words. Kayfabe wise, the only way Fuji's appearances make sense is through your ideas - heels couldn't legitimately think they were better off with a non-wrestler teaming with them?

I watched a bit of the CCW stuff yesterday, only to realise I was watching the wrong episode due to the dates being wrong. A short delay before that column ends up being posted then.

Landell, Mantell and Dundee ARE Memphis, whilst Arn Anderson shows why a Mulkey shouldn't punch you in the mouth.

NOW WITH TWO ADDED GIFS! Watch Bill Dundee double foot stomp Tracy Smothers off of a chair, and Dennis Condrey legit KO a jobber with the help of Bobby Eaton.

Not related to the project, but here is an article where I began to chart who the 'real' world champion is.

https://kayfabetoday.wordpress.com/2016/02/26/tracking-the-real-world-champion-part-one/

Similar in vein to the Unofficial World Cup Champions, I'm looking at who would be champion if every match from when Chris Jericho won the Undisputed Title in 2001 was a title match, and titles could change hand on DQ/Countout.
