Absolutely loved this match. Takeshita is already one of the top heavyweights (well, he's tall in a promotion of short guys even he's still underweight) in Japan at 20, and Kodaka was legitimately Rey-like.

Really enjoyed it, doubt it will a serious MOTYC by the end of the year or anything like that and the opening matwork and strike exchanges could've been better but once they went went into a higher gear it become loads of fun. I found the addition of RINGS and Battlarts tribute spots to the indy style highly amusing.

I liked the sort of scrappy role Kodaka played here against the physically stronger Takeshita, relying more on his trap-style submissions than trying to go blow-for-blow. Takeshita looked really good here and his offense looked powerful, with Kodaka's sells helping out. Probably Kodaka's best title defense in DDT.
