Posted January 9, 20169 yr comment_5719743 This show starts off with a promo from the Russians who talk about the Road Warriors finally showing up on TV that day as well as pimping their Starrcade match with RnR. "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Tony Zane Easy win for Valiant. Cornette comes out for a promo next talking about the issues with the MX and Valiant/Miss Atlanta Lively. This is good stuff. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Gerald Finley BJH in white tights with OREGON in black on the back is rare. BJH viciously works over Finley's back setting up the Full-Nelson which he would eventually lock on for the win. Krusher Khruschev vs. Larry Clark Total squash. Ron Bass comes out next with his bullrope to pimp his upcoming bullrope match with Black Bart at Starrcade describing how dangerous the match is. Bass was always an underrated promo especially as a babyface. Valiant comes out next for a promo talking about visiting all of the planets in the solar system over the week before talking about Corny & MX. "Cowboy" Ron Bass vs. Paul Garner Bass just roughhouses Garner who tries to fight back in vain before putting him away. Flair comes out next for a promo on his match with Dusty Rhodes at Starrcade and Flair just burns down David Crockett and the AWA....Definite extra. Next we get a Starrcade update with David & Tony running down the card. The Barbarian vs. George South Barbarian is just a beast here. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) vs. "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin, Terry Taylor, & "Pistol" Pez Whatley Arn giving the NWA World TV Title belt to Paul Jones to take care of was just random but he didn't want Dusty stealing it back. Pez looked great to start off firing dropkicks on Arn plus getting shots in on Ole & Flair. Garvin would come in and he would just have a war with Flair like you would hope for and the fans were going nuts. Taylor would come in throwing bombs which started off a 6-way brawl for a little bit and the crowd was just eating all this up. Garvin got isolated by the heels for a bit and they just worked him over with tight shots as well as focusing on his left arm. Garvin's comeback of just chopping the fuck out of Flair before getting the hot tag to Taylor was awesome. Taylor comes in running wild on everyone getting a big nearfall on Flair but he had to fight all 3 heels and it was taking a toll on him. Taylor would get a desperation figure-four on Flair but Ole would break it up and Taylor was really looking good here fighting everyone. Whatley got the hot tag and the 6-way brawl is going full force until Flair who was on the floor tripped up Whatley allowing Arn to nail him and cover for the win. Extremely fun TV match and this goes forward as a nomination. Tully Blanchard & Baby Doll then cut a promo afterwards about his Starrcade match with Magnum TA as well as burying Magnum's motorcycle. Jim Crockett comes out next and announces that Manny Fernandez will face Buddy Landell next week. Dusty Rhodes comes out for a promo next talking about Flair and their match at Starrcade. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Jim & Mac Jeffers The future Mod Squad get totally destroyed. Ole, Arn, & Flair are out next for a promo with Ric wearing the "I DO IT WITH FLAIR" shirt which is awesome. The future Horsemen rip Dusty to shreds and it's awesome. Extra material. Tully Blanchard vs. Jimmy Backlund Tully shakes hands with the future Jimmy del Ray and then proceeds to beat his ass. The Roadies cut a promo next saying that Ellering is back at home counting their money and that they are coming for the Horsemen & Koloffs as they are standing by their friend Dusty. Magnum T.A. vs. Joe Malcolm Magnum wins in less than 30 seconds and cuts a promo afterwards on the I Quit match with Tully. Paul Jones & Barbarian are out next for a promo talking about Barbarian's arm being in a cast and that he will be ready for his arm wrestling match against Superstar Billy Graham at Starrcade. Ivan & Nikita Koloff vs. Adrian Bivens & Rocky King This is basically a mauling. Flair is back out next this time freshly showered wearing his suit before he joined by the Andersons & Tully who talk about how great they are until Dusty & Magnum jump in the ring talking shit which brings the future Horsemen to the ring but Dusty & Magnum are then joined by the Roadies and this is just a great visual. Definite extra.
January 20, 20169 yr comment_5721837 Russian interview Valiant vs Tony Zane JC promo possible EXTRA BJH vs Gerald Findley Khrusher vs Clarke Ron Bass promo possible Extra for his Starcade match Jimmy Valiant promo Ron Bass vs Paul Garner Flair promo-EXTRA Barbarian vs George South Flair/Andersons vs Taylor/Garvin/Whatley I'll give this a low-end nomination. This was a ton of fun. Arn does some nice stooging for Pez on the mat. Flair's in and now he's shining up Pez. Garvin in and him and Flair raise the physicality in this by 100%. Fuck both guys are just beating on each other. Eventually Garvin is FIP and the heels just beat on him and up the dick headness here. Eventually Taylor is tagged in and he's taking it to the Horseman.Eventually the heels cut him off. They start working him over. So we have another FIP. Taylor gets to Pez for a hot tag. He's on fire. It's utter chaos at the finish. This allows Flair to trip up Pez that leads to Pez getting pinned. This was one heck of a studio match.
