Sam's hand is in a cast from the attack. This is pretty methodical. Bart using rough house tactics. Houston showing tons of fight. Another solid studio bout.

The Rock n Roll Express start the show with a promo talking about defending their titles later on in the show against The Rising Suns.

Terry Taylor vs. Tommy Lane (8/17/85)

Lane gives Taylor a good battle here and it's a good spotlight for Taylor's ability as a wrestler as he has to work hard to get the best of him. Taylor eventually gets a win with the sunset flip in a finish out of nowhere which was fun.

Ric Flair is out next for a promo talking about how hard it is to be humble and then cuts one of his all-time great promos talking about how great he is and how everyone else is nothing compared to him. Slam dunk extra.

Arn Anderson vs. Rocky King (8/17/85)

Arn is like a buzzsaw here taking Rocky apart then along with Ole they join Tony after the match for a promo talking about how they can handle business as a team or on their own. They want America's Team but they are scared of them.

Tully Blanchard vs. Joel Deaton (8/17/85)

Deaton gives Tully some fits here as we get some decent back and forth action but Tully would drop him with the Slingshot Suplex to get the win.

Dusty is out next for a promo talking about the Andersons & Tully Blanchard aligning being trouble but Dusty isn't scared. Dusty then talks about Baby Doll owes him money and talks about how he fucked her at the Tropicana. Extra material.

Magnum TA vs. Golden Terror (8/17/85)

Another quick squash for Magnum who then joins Dusty at the desk talking about wanting Texas Tornado matches against the Andersons.

The Barbarian vs. Lee Ramsey (8/17/85)

Total squash. After the match, Paul Jones and his boys talk about how they are still coming for Jimmy Valiant and whoever joins him especially Dusty Rhodes. Paul also wants Dusty to put up his TV Title against one of his men.

NWA World Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. The Rising Suns (Tatsutoshi Goto & Kendo Nagasaki) (8/17/85)

RnR start off very strong and maintain the advantage for quite some time as they use some really good armwork but Gibson would get isolated in the other corner and the masked men would work him over. They would throw Gibson to the floor so Dillon could get his shots in as well and Gibson is in trouble. Gibson though would get the hot tag to Morton who cleaned house before Gibson would join in but Morton would get caught by the Suns slingshot chop finisher and when they tried it again Morton countered with a sunset flip to win. Decent match with some great heat but not a nomination.

Tully & Baby Doll are out next for a promo talking about Tully becoming both the US Champ and the TV Champ as he wants Dusty's belt too.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & Krusher Khruschev vs. Italian Stallion & Pistol Pez Whatley (8/17/85)

The babyfaces start out strong with the Russians bumping and selling for them pretty good. It would take a double Russian Sickle on Stallion to win the match as the Russians were desperate at that point.

David Crockett then announced after the match that the Russians would defend their NWA World Six-Man Tag Titles next week against Ron Bass, Starship Eagle, & Jimmy Valiant.

Starship Eagle (Danny Spivey) vs. Gerald Finley (8/17/85)

Spivey makes his TBS debut here and he dominates Finley.

Flair comes back out talking about how great the NWA is and puts over all the talent.

The Russians are out next for a promo with Nikita talking about how he gets better each time he faces Flair and it won't be long before he beats him. Ivan telling Tony he needs a haircut was great.

Cornette comes out next talking about the Sawyers and of course this is funny stuff.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Jim & Mac Jeffers (8/17/85)

The future Mod Squad gets totally manhandled by the MX here.

The Sawyers then come out for a promo both wearing sunglasses covering their eyes hiding the fact they were high I'm sure. We get clips of the Sawyers vs. MX from the Omni and Buzz then cuts a mad promo with a bandage over his head. Buzz is really good here.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Ron Rossi (8/17/85)

Budro looks great here winning with the Figure-Four and along with Dillon they join Tony after the match for a promo with Landell talking about wanting a piece of Flair.

Terry Taylor then comes out next for a promo talking about Black Bart and Sam Houston gunning for him on the show.

Black Bart vs. Sam Houston (8/17/85)

Houston gives Bart some fits early on but Bart takes control and takes it to Houston while Terry Taylor does commentary. Houston would send Bart over the top rope with a dropkick and started firing shots before hitting the Bulldog headlock for a nearfall as Bart got his foot on the bottom rope. Houston then threw Bart into Steven Gregory knocking him to the floor and Houston had Bart beat making his own count. Taylor grabbed Gregory and threw him back in the ring and Bart then loaded up his elbowpad and KO'ed Houston to win. Fun little match.
