Posted January 9, 20169 yr comment_5719776 Terry Taylor vs. Black Cat (Gerald Finley) Taylor looks good here before finsihing off Cat with the Superplex. Tony & David then discuss the Flair/Andersons vs. Dusty feud and has it become too personal. We also get a Dusty promo from World Wide as well. Don Kernodle vs. Don Turner Kernodle gets a rare TV win at this time period. The Barbarian vs. Stoney Burke Burke jumps Barbarian before the match and gets some offense in before he gets destroyed. Barbarian's headbutts were fierce here. Flair is out next for a promo where he says he does whatever he wants and he doesn't care what anyone things. Good stuff. Next we get another Starrcade Update with Tony & David. Superstar Billy Graham vs. Tony Zane Zane using the Full-Nelson on SBG early on was funny and that was about all he could do as SBG was too much for him. "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez vs. "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell Now this is a good matchup. Landell talking before the match saying that they had to be ribbing him to book him against a Mexican then eating a backfist from Manny sending him to the floor was great. Buddy was great here bumping and selling for Manny making him look good as well as getting heat by going to the floor stalling when he needed to. Buddy though would start working over Manny's left arm until Manny caught him in a drop toehold and then started working over Buddy's left ankle relentlessly. Dillon though would rake Manny's eyes when he got close to the ropes allowing Budro to make his comeback. Manny would get busted open hardway during this which added a little extra to the match and Dillon would keep getting shots in but Manny would fight back every time until making his full comeback which was built around his back strikes but missed a diving knee off the middle rope. Landell then locked on the figure-four but Manny reversed quickly until Budro got to the ropes. Steven Gregory the referee called for the bell in a weird situation and said that the match was a time limit draw which the announcers never mentioned a time limit. Even with the screwy finish this was a damn good match and deserves a nomination. Terry Taylor comes out next with this National Heavyweight Title belt for a promo about his match with Landell at Starrcade. Jim Crockett then announces that Black Bart & Thunderfoot will face The Road Warriors next week. Flair then comes back out for a promo talking about how he should be in the Championship Challenge Series soon.....this is a great job of planting a seed for the future. Black Bart vs. Rocky King Rocky starts off hitting a dropkick on Bart but that only angers Bart and he just pounds him before putting him away with the Texas Compactor. Ron Bass comes out next for a promo talking about his past with Bart & Dillon and how turned on him and how he will take out his revenge on them at Starrcade. Bass is really good here. The Road Warriors are out next for a promo ripping up the Andersons & Flair. Billy Jack Haynes vs. Jim Jeffers BJH just destroys poor Jeffers then cuts a promo afterwards saying that he would break Arn's neck as an answer for them breaking Dusty's ankle. Then we get a clip package on the Russians. "Cowboy" Ron Bass, Italian Stallion, & "Pistol" Pez Whatley vs. Larry Clark, Kent Glover, & Carl Styles Fine little showcase match for the babyfaces and they needed more 6-mans like this on TV. Denny Brown is out next for a promo talking about Starrcade.....good lord is this terrible. Golden Terror vs. Sam Houston Flair comes out and does commentary so that is a sign for an angle. Terror puts up a fight and even gets his foot on the rope after a bulldog headlock from Houston. Both men collided head first then Flair came over and suplexed Houston on the floor. David Crockett went over to check on Sam who got counted out as referee Steven Gregory didn't see Flair suplex him. Flair is screaming for Dusty to come out but he never does.
January 20, 20169 yr comment_5721842 SSBG promo Taylor vs Black Cat recap of Flair/Dusty feud Dusty promo-EXTRA Don Kernodle vs Don Turner Barbarian vs Stoney Burke Flair promo SSBG vs Tony Zane Manny Fernandez vs Buddy Landell It starts with Landel going"A Mexican, you've got to be ribbing me." Fernandez with a back fist. Manny stuff looks snug as hell. I liked the leg work. Shame Landell didn't sell the damage enough. I loved Landell's character work. While he was offense the match dragged. He was using a rest hold. At least he made it interesting by talking shit. Manny goes back on offense and business picks up. Manny is bleeding and we work the cut. It ends in a draw. Manny is such a beast. Low-End Nomination.
