Posted January 28, 20169 yr comment_5724084 Tom Peterson is at the building live to pimp his electronics and if you watched Portland wrestling that is awesome.Northwest TV Title: Art Barr © vs. C.W. Bergstorm (12/5/87)Art is getting a push now as the young rising star and he has the trophy in his possession. This match takes a backseat to Dutch Savage & The Grappler going at it on commentary. Art is fine here but Bergstorm is green as grass and he gets DQed in the 1st fall but not releasing a choke on Barr. The 2nd fall starts with Bergstrom continuing to choke Art which pisses off his dad Sandy the referee but Bergstrom would continue to work over Barr. Art would eventually catch Bergstrom in a schoolboy out of nowhere to get the win but got destroyed by the Avalanche (P.N. News) & Chris Colt afterwards then they worked over Sandy Barr and Colt started cutting some of Sandy's hair with scissors continuing their long feud until Assassin & Mike Miller ran them off.Next we get a promo from The Mafia which was Chris Colt, Avalanche, Joey Jackson, & Moondog Moretti and this is an AMAZING heel faction talking about cutting people's hair. Colt is KINGSIZED here. Extra material.God these Tom Peterson live ads are awesome....he was sitting in a recliner throughout the promo."Mean" Mike Miller vs. "The Crippler" Rip Oliver (12/5/87)Rip is making his return to the area from a short stint in the WWF and was supposed to face Brian Adams but Miller comes out brandishing his 2x4 named Lucille which to go along with Colt calling himself "The Barber" they are going after the WWF gimmicks. This is a brawl fronm the bell with Miller throwing bombs on Oliver but Rip comes back with thumbs to the eyes. Dutch Savage on commentary talks about how he has never seen Rip in such condition....well he was on the WWF diet for sure. Oliver roughhouses Miller for a while with Miller getting some hope spots in before Miller brings in Lucille which brings out The Grappler who runs in for the DQ. It's 2-on-1 until The Assassin runs out with a bullrope and he cleans house. Then we get promos from Assassin & Miller where Assassin talks about a bullrope tag match next week. Dutch Savage then pulls out his Coal Miners Glove and he is giving it to The Assassin as a gift to counter Grappler's loaded boot. This promo is great.Cocoa Samoa & "Mean" Mike Miller vs. Chris "The Barber" Colt & Moondog Moretti (12/5/87)CHRIS COLT IS GOD HERE.....smoking a cigar wearing a jean vest jacket that has Alice Cooper on the back while holding a hand made sign that says "MAFIA POWER" on it and wearing a shirt that has something to do with Hitler. The heels dominate Cocoa early on tagging in and out just wearing him down. Miller would finally get the hot tag and he ran wild getting the Russian Legsweep on Moretti to win the match. Avalanche then ran in and gave Colt his hair creme but Cocoa ran them off with a steel chair. Colt is amazing but the match is basically a long beatdown then a finishThen we get promos from Grappler & Oliver about the upcoming gimmick matches.Northwest Tag Titles: The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll & Scott Peterson) © vs. Avalanche & "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson (12/5/87)Always fun seeing P.N. News in his other characters. The match was worked at a fast pace and everything was fine but the action wasn't anything really special other than Colt's presence on the floor. Doll would hit a cross body block off the middle rope on Jackson out of nowhere to win the 1st fall. Between falls we get a taped promo from Matt Borne in Texas with the Texas Heavyweight Title in hand and he is coming home for The Grappler and this is followed up by promos from Grappler, Colt, & Avalanche. The 2nd fall starts with Peterson getting worked over by the heels before getting a hot tag to Doll who ran wild setting off a 4-way brawl until the bell rang for the time limit draw.Next we get promos from Assassin & Southern Rockers where Assassin has the glove and the bullrope.Northwest TV Title: Art Barr © vs. "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson (12/12/87)Colt wanting Don Owen to introduce him as the greatest manager in the world and asking everyone if they wanted a haircut was great. Barr while doing some athletic stuff is still green and Jackson was a basic worker as well so this was a basic match. Colt was fun on the floor choking Barr with his belt. Jackson then got Barr in a backdrop suplex hold with Sandy counting them out but Barr got his shoulder up not Jackson and Art kept his trophy.Chris Colt comes out to interupt Don Coss telling his travel schedule talking about the upcoming Miller vs. Avalanche match that he has to be in the penalty box for and how he is going to use his creme on Miller's head."Maniac" Matt Borne vs. Avalanche (12/12/87)Borne comes out but he doesn't get the mega pop you would think he would get and he has his father Tony Borne with him which pisses off Colt who demands he leave. Avalanche used his weight early on Borne but Matt would make a comeback and sent Avalanche scurrying to the floor. Avalanche would get back and used his power advantage again to work over Borne with Colt's help as well but Tony would trip up Avalanche and Borne covered him to win. Fun little segment here. Then we get a promo from Assassin and the Borne family and Borne talks about how he is on the right side now because he has grown up and he is firm with Assassin.Cocoa Samoa vs. Scott Peterson (12/12/87)This is a babyface match which they haven't run many of lately. Rip Oliver is on commentary here and he is talking about all the cleaning up he is going to do in the area. There was actually no commentary on the match at all. This of course goes to a time limit draw and both men shake hands afterwards.Next we get promos from Grappler and Chris Colt's Mafia where Colt tests his creme on Moretti's arm and it takes the hair right off. This is extra material.American Ninja (Brian Adams) vs. Moondog Moretti (12/12/87)This was not good at all....Adams was so green and Moretti was fine but couldn't get anything out of Adams. Grappler & Oliver would then attack Adams after he won the match until Assassin ran out with his bullrope then hit Grappler with his loaded mask and went for the loaded boot then took it off. The fans went nuts for this. Assassin would then cut a promo with the boot but Grappler & Oliver would jump him and took the boot back. Barry Owen would then say he would fine them a $1,000 a piece for attacking Assassin in the Crow's Nest. Owen then announces a cage match on 12/26 with the glove on a pole in one corner and the boot on a pole in the other corner. Extra material for the angle.Steve Doll vs. Chris "The Barber" Colt (12/12/87)Doll comes out to "Girls Girls Girls" by Motley Crue here which is awesome. Colt is awesome here working his chickenshit act but loses the 1st fall in short order after a cross body block by Doll. Then we get great promos from Grappler, Colt, & Oliver about everything going on. Colt starts the 2nd fall by biting Doll on the head which is great then Doll comes firing back with shots seeing Colt getting tied in the ropes in a fun spot. Doll is just going to town on Colt until Avalanche runs out to jump Doll and they start cutting Doll's hair until the faces run them off.The babyfaces then all cut a group promo afterards.Cocoa Samoa & "Mean" Mike Miller vs. C.W. Bergstrom & Moondog Moretti (12/19/87)Basic tag formula match here and it was funny watching Cocoa stretch Bergstrom tying him up like a pretzel. The faces win this fairly easily.Next we get Grappler with Don Owen and he whines about the cage match set for the next week but Don Owen ain't changing his mind. Good stuff. The Assassin vs. Avalanche (12/19/87)Assassin coming out to Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins is never not great. Colt's work at ringside as the manager was great naturally and got involved bashing Assassin's head into his chair. This was actually a fun little match as Avalanche was bumping hard for Assassin although some of it was in slow motion. Grappler then showed up and loaded up his boot but kicked Avalanche then Assassin covered to win.Assassin then cuts a promo with Don Coss with the cage in front of them which is classic wrestling business. Miller would then cut a promo on Avalanche as well.American Ninja (Brian Adams) vs. "The Crippler" Rip Oliver (12/19/87)Adams doing this karate gimmick is a hoot. This match wasn't much of anything until Oliver stole Adams' kendo stick and he used it on him and Sandy Barr for the DQ. Oliver whipped Ninja in the leg with the kendo stick until Assassin & Miller made the save. Then we get a promo from the babyfaces afterwards.....Adams calls Oliver a "KNUCKLEHEAD".....hilarious.Scott Peterson vs. "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson (12/19/87)This match had a good pace and some decent action but Chris Colt was the star working ringside pretending to shoot fans with his fake machine gun.Oliver & Colt then cut promos next on Adams and the babyfaces.Assassin & Miller then come out and do a hard sell on the 12/26 show which wasn't televised.Steve Doll vs. C.W. Bergstrom (1/9/88)Doll looked pretty good here but Bergstrom was green as grass.Miller & The Southern Rockers then cut a promo afterwards about their future shows.Cocoa Samoa & The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll & Scott Peterson) vs. Avalanche, "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson, & Moondog Moretti (1/9/88)Chris Colt isn't with his Mafia so he is now gone from the promotion which was a huge loss. Avalanche is wearing boxing headgear here to cover up his bald head. Decent action until it broke down into a wild brawl that saw Doll hit Jackson with a clothesline to win the match. Avalanche though would load up his headgear and headbutted Doll's back.Next we get a promo from Abudadein who confirmed that the Mafia was dead and that he was taking over the contracts of the group thus forming the House of Abudadein.Northwest Heavyweight Title: The Grappler © vs. American Ninja (Brian Adams) (1/9/88)Adams couldn't sell worth a shit and wasn't very good on offense but he had a great look so that's why he was pushed hard. Grappler tried to get a good match out of him but it wasn't going to happen. Abudadein would run out for the DQ using the kendo stick on Adams.Grappler & Oliver cut a promo afterwards bragging about beating Adams among others.Northwest TV Title: Abudadein © vs. Scott Peterson (1/9/88)Both Rockers doing double shots on the show is interesting. Okay match for what it was as Abudadein was a solid worker who should've got a shot somewhere.Next we get promos from Adams, Miller, & Southern Rockers and Adams was horrible here.
