Posted February 8, 20169 yr comment_5726019 Top Gun vs. Al Madril (5/13/89)The early part of the match is Madril trying to get the referee to believe that Gun is cheating and then he plays hide the lighter with Sandy Barr....see instead of using a chain, Madril uses a bic lighter as a weapon. Madril jabs Gun with the lighter numerous times then Gun breaks out his own lighter and chases Madril out of the ring with a burning lighter. Sandy Barr counts out both men and this was a hilarious segment. Extra material.Next we get a promo from the Midnight Soldier who is Brian Adams under a hood which The Grappler confirms for everyone which they should've known anyway. Adams cuts a pretty good promo here as he was much better than he was a year earlier.Beetlejuice vs. C.W. Bergstorm (5/13/89)Beetlejuice brings a bunch of kids with him to the ring where they dance along with him and he was red hot as a babyface. Beetlejuice rips some of Bergstrom's chest hair off during the match and this match is all Beetlejuice schtick and wacky offense. Beetlejuice wins with a Thesz Press off the top rope.Next we get The Rose Garden featuring Buddy Rose but Don Owen comes out and he is going to kick him off the segment until Steve Doll runs him off. Don Owen then brings out two girls who some prizes from the promotion for taking pictures of The Grappler unmasked. The girl goes nuts when Steve Doll says that Scott Peterson is going to go out with them on the town. Slam dunk extra.I Quit Match: Steve Doll vs. Scotty the Body (5/13/89)The deal here is that Scotty has one of the Northwest Tag Title belts and Doll has the other one and the winner will get both belts. This was a pretty fun match although kinda short and Scotty gave up on a reversed figure-four where he went.....NO......YES....NO.....and Sandy Barr called for the bell. Scotty then attacked both men afterwards with Buddy Rose & Jonathan Boyd running out to help destroy these guys. Scotty then puts a dress on Doll and they put makeup on him which is an old angle done in this territory quite a few times.Scotty then cuts a promo with Boyd & Rose where Boyd talks about how he is with his true friends. Peterson then comes out and tells Scotty that Doll wants him next week. Scotty then tells him that he must face Boyd next week first.Lord Jonathan Boyd vs. Rex King (5/13/89)Boyd jumps King at the bell and takes it to King who fights back but is no match for Boyd.Carl Styles comes out and cuts a promo on the cage match he has with Grappler that night with Grappler's mask on the line against Styles leaving town. Grappler & Nord who is smoking a cigar then show up with Grappler trying to sweet talk Styles into quitting the match. Styles says that ain't happening and he agrees to 6 cage matches.....Beetlejuice & Scott Peterson come out and say that this was ridiculous that he took that deal."Playboy" Buddy Rose vs. Scott Peterson (5/13/89)They start fighting as soon as they get in the ring and this is a really fun match as we get Buddy bumping hard and both men throwing lots of punches. Scott would get pissed and threw Buddy over the top rope for the DQ and followed him to the floor where he kept beating on him until Sandy Barr pulled him away.Grappler then pulled out Barry Owen saying that Styles agreed to the 6 cage matches which Owen agreed that it's a done deal.Steel Cage Match for the Northwest Heavyweight Title: Carl Styles © vs. The Grappler (5/13/89)If Styles loses he leaves town and Grappler must unmask if he loses plus all of the wrestlers were escorted out of the building but Scotty the Body tried to hide in the bleachers but they kicked him out. Styles dominates Grappler until Nord the Barbarian shows up in security gear and he climbes up the cage then tries to rip the door off until the babyfaces show up to finally stop him. Midnight Soldier then pulls Nord from the cage and they tee off on the floor as the action goes on inside the ring but has taken the backseat to the brawl on the floor. The cameras are fully on the brawl and not the match in the ring which sucks. The match goes back to normal and it's back and forth until Nord shows back up with Midnight Soldier's mask and demands the $1,000 for the bounty because he wants to go drinking. The focus is now completely on this promo instead of the match with Nord telling Don Owen he is legally dead. Owen makes Nord vs. Soldier next week then Don Coss goes over the card next week as action is still going on in the ring which we can't see then he signs off so we have no idea what happened in the cage.Don Coss starts the next show with Scotty the Body when Grappler runs out with a towel over his head whining about Carl Styles taking his mask then Styles chases him off. Styles then fell in love with Scotty's valet.Carl Styles vs. "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson (5/20/89)Styles comes to the ring carrying a child and right as the match starts Don Coss demands they cut from the ring as Roddy Piper shows up at the Crows Nest saying that he met a woman that needed $50,000 or she would be dead in 4 months. Then he talks about kids having problems and he said that he is going to go to the mayor of Portland to help build a center. Roddy vows to save the children of Portland....this is quite the interview as a match is going on in the ring. Styles is working over Jackson good until Joey jabs him in his good eye. Well Styles gets pissed and he puts him away with the Full-Nelson. Rex King & Top Gun came out and they had to pull him off of Jackson. Styles then cuts a promo demanding that no one messes with his eye anymore.Grappler then comes out with a bag over his head saying that he is going to sue Styles for stealing his mask. Styles then chased him out of the Crow's Nest and stole his bag.Scotty the Body vs. Top Gun (5/20/89)The match is just getting going when Carl Styles shows up and brings flowers to Scotty's valet Ginger which pisses Scotty off. Scotty takes the flowers and stomps on them naturally. Decent back and forth match until Scotty got an O'Connor Roll using the tights to pin Top Gun who is pissed and holds Scotty down in a schoolboy using his tights for a while.Next we get The Rose Garden featuring Buddy Rose and his guest Scotty the Body where they call Steve Doll "gay" before Styles shows up trying to hit on Ginger again. Styles gives Ginger a note that Scotty reads which is hilarious. Buddy then almost slaps his valet for laughing at everything. This is quite the segment here and a definite extra.Then we get clips of the Southern Rockers/Scotty the Body angle.Lord Jonathan Boyd vs. Steve Doll (5/20/89)Doll attacks Boyd at the bell as he is pissed about the dress angle from last week. If Doll wins, Peterson gets 5 minutes with Scotty the Body as well. This was fine for what it was and Boyd got a cheap win as he caught Doll with a knee to the face then used the ropes to pin Doll. Everyone then tried to tell Sandy Barr what happened and for some reason they restarted the match with Doll pinning Boyd after he accidentally hit Scotty. Peterson then wants his 5 minutes and Scotty runs away....the babyfaces though then grab him and haul him to the ring where he Scott beats his ass. Boyd & Rose then run out and they have a dress and they put the dress on him as well as putting makeup on him. The babyfaces would finally run out to help but the damage was done. The heels then join Don Coss with Scotty saying that the Southern Rockers sleep together and are real life partners.Beetlejuice vs. Al Madril (5/20/89)Beetlejuice has a bunch of kids dancing with him again on the way to the ring with one in particular looking just like him dancing in the ring. This gimmick was white hot in this territory. Madril calls them his illegitimate kids which is great and then threatens to beat up Don Owen. As the match is going on, Nord the Barbarian shows up with Don Coss bitching about the Midnight Soldier. Top Gun would then show up after Nord leaves and he cuts a promo.....man they loved running angles and cutting promos during matches. Madril at one point threatened to hit the kid at ringside which pissed off Beetlejuice who beat the hell out of him on the floor for a double countout. Beetlejuice then went into the crowd and carried all the kids with him to the Crow's Nest. What a segment this is.Next we get clips of the Nord vs. Midnight Soldier feud.The Midnight Soldier vs. Nord the Barbarian (5/20/89)This was not a pretty match as these guys were not good. Nord ripped off Soldier's mask and Soldier had Grappler's old mask on under it which was a cool spot. Buddy Rose then ran out and threw Sandy Barr over the top rope and along with Al Madril & Jonathan Boyd they ganged up on Soldier. The babyfaces then ran out and this was done to build up to the battle royal next week.The next show starts with Grappler with his mask on whining to Don Coss and then we get Barry Owen and the babyfaces surrounding him and they demand he take his mask off. He finally takes it off and Len Denton has his face painted like the Grappler mask.....hilarious. This is a definite extra.The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll & Scott Peterson) vs. C.W. Bergstrom & Al Madril (5/27/89)The kids got in free on this show and they made this a red hot atmosphere. The Rockers looked pretty good here and their opponents were decent at bumping and selling for them especially Madril. Bergstrom would eat the pin.Then we get the Piper promo from the previous week which leads up to the Southern Rockers coming out with a chart where they want to raise money the lady who needs a new liver.Carl Styles vs. Col. DeBeers (5/27/89)Styles comes to ringside holding kids stealing Beetlejuice's gimmick. Styles dominates DeBeers until he would go for Styles' good eye just like the match last week. Styles though would quickly make a comeback then put on the Full-Nelson on the floor for yet another double countout and had to get pulled off. Styles then went to Don Coss and said that he told everyone don't miss with his eye and that was proof of what would happen.BILLY JACK HAYNES would show up next making his return where he tells Don Coss he loves him talking about Don's wife who died from cancer. BJH then talks about his failed promotion a year earlier and he apologized to Don Owen for running opposition. He talks about going bankrupt and getting divorced and then announces that he is retiring from wrestling. Barry Owen then comes out and they say they are going to have a retirement party next week. Billy isn't sure of it and he says that he will give away his old gear next week. This is a slam dunk extra.Beetlejuice vs. Lord Jonathan Boyd (5/27/89)Free kids night so Beetlejuice is like a God on this show. The ring is fucking surrounded by hundreds of kids....an amazing visual. Boyd gets pissed at all the antics from Beetlejuice and threw Beetlejuice towards the pole where he swung around the pole going to the floor and Sandy Barr would call for the DQ saying that Boyd threw him over the top rope.....hilarious.Next we have The Rose Garden but no Buddy Rose and Al Madril takes over saying that Buddy Rose is gone and he is now in charge of this segment. Madril's guests were Grappler & Nord where they bury Billy Jack Haynes then Scotty the Body comes out and they bury Carl Styles who shows up with his pet pig Priscilla which was something else.Scotty the Body vs. Rex King (5/27/89)The highlight of this match is Scotty breaking out a pescado on King to the floor. This was a pretty decent match between the youngsters and Scotty took advantage of Rex being young and stupid to pin him. Scotty then calls out Jonathan Boyd who brings out a dress and they try to put the dress on King until Doll & Peterson make the save.Then we get promos from The Southern Rockers about the dress thing and they are sick and tired of it so Barry Owen tells Scotty to come to the Crow's Nest and he brings Boyd with him. Barry then books them in a tag match next week with the titles on the line and Scott pulls out some lingerie for Scotty.The Midnight Soldier vs. The Grappler (5/27/89)Soldier uses his karate kicks early on to weaken the Grappler but Grappler would go to work on Soldier's left leg for a bit although Soldier makes his comeback and sells nothing. Nord shows up as Soldier had Grappler in a torture rack and attacks Soldier with a steel chair before Carl Styles runs out and it's a wild brawl. Soldier & Styles would return to cut a promo on them with Top Gun coming out with a bullrope and they make a bullrope match for next week.Next we get the big Battle Royal with TV time running out but this was a pretty good battle royal.The next show starts up with clips of the Grappler unmasking angle followed up by a promo from Carl Styles who said that he was going to wash the Grappler's facepaint off.Top Gun vs. "Gorgeous" Joey Jackson (6/3/89)Decent back and forth match with Gun going over.Don Coss calls up Billy Jack Haynes next who gives away some of his gear to fans and his father along with the rest of his family. Coss then says that Scotty the Body must leave so Billy's dad will help announce. Don Coss then said that he bought Scotty's time from Don Owen and the babyfaces run him off. This is a tremendous segment and a slam dunk extra.Beetlejuice vs. C.W. Bergstorm (6/3/89)Beet has all of his kid fans dancing with him to the ring again. Beet starts strong but Bergstrom comes firing back which only pisses Beet off and it isn't too long after that before Beet gets the win.Roddy Piper comes out next to talk about the promotion's charity efforts lately as well as him helping the kids on the street. Piper then talks about Billy Jack Haynes wanting to retire and basically calls him a quitter then tells him to be a man and get in the ring. Quite the promo this was and a definite extra.Rex King vs. Al Madril (6/3/89)Gotta love Don Coss saying that Rex King was the Florida Rookie of the Year for 1988. This is full of Madril schtick of him screwing around with Sandy Barr and using his Bic lighter for cheapshots on King. Rex though was pesky and came back hitting a big cross body block off the top rope for the upset win.Madril then came out for his Fiesta Garden and demanded King come out where he accused him of pulling his tights to win. King says that he doesn't need to cheat and challenged him to go back out but he has a hangnail. Grappler then attacked King from behind before cutting a promo on Styles with Madril pretending to be blind. Styles then runs out and throws a wet towel on Grappler's face wiping the paint off then locks on the Full-Nelson on Madril. Boyd runs out and the heels go for his eye where Grappler calls him a son of a bitch then puts the stuff in his mouth to spray green mist in his face and he does it. That is the first time I've ever seen someone do the mist spot by actually putting it in their mouth in plain sight. This was a very hot angle and a slam dunk extra.Northwest Tag Titles: The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll & Scott Peterson) © vs. Lord Jonathan Boyd & Scotty the Body (6/3/89)The Rockers want to fight but Scotty puts Ginger in front of him which was hilarious. This is one of the rare 2 out of 3 falls matches from this era as they went away from that concept a good bit. The Rockers start out strong pissed about the Styles angle earlier but Peterson would get caught by the heels but not for long. Doll comes in and a 4-way brawl is on where he gets a double DDT by the heels and loses the first fall. The 2nd fall starts up with the heels attacking the Rockers as they get in the ring but Peterson would throw Scotty into Doll who got a piledriver to end the fall quickly. The 3rd fall started with the Rockers taking it to Scotty then Doll pulls out the lingerie from last week with Scotty leaving the ring to get counted out. Rockers then cut a promo after the match.Don Coss would interview Billy's father between falls about Styles being blinded since Billy's dad couldn't see and this brings out the heels who sing Three Blind Mice about Styles then they go off on the Haynes family. Grappler takes the hat off of Billy's dad's head and they demand he get rolled away. Grappler then puts the hat on his head before singing again before Haynes shows up and just smacks the shit out of the Grappler who runs to the ring and jokes about his dad with Billy chasing Grappler around the building with fans trying to stop the Grappler in a crazy deal. Bergstorm & Jackson then hold Billy Jack up and Billy says he wants to fight with Piper coming out to help him. This was total insanity and a slam dunk extra.Beetlejuice, Rex King, & Top Gun then come out saying that this has to stop now and Don Owen joins them agreeing that Grappler will face Billy Jack Haynes in an anything goes match since there is no TV. Nord the Barbarian is also suspended indefinitely.
