World Championship Wrestling 12/19/87

Sting starts out cutting a promo wanting to win Bunkhouse Stampedes and talks about wanting Flair for the first time.

NWA World TV Title: "Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff © vs. David Isley (12/9/87)

Easy win for Nikita.

Cornette comes out next with Bubba cutting a promo about Dusty comparing him to Ali who Corny said had a brain of cottage cheese and talked like an idiot.

The Midnight Express ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Sweet" Stan Lane) vs. Cougar Jay & Rocky King (12/9/87)

The fans were very into the MX here. The MX squashes of this era were as good as any squashes ever. Corny calling Rocky King "Watermelon Head" was wild.

Arn & Tully are out next talking about Luger with Arn being awesome.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Trent Knight (12/9/87)

Squash and a promo afterwards. Windham comes out and tells Doc that he wouldn't let friendship get in the way again.

The Sheepherders come out next for a promo.

The Barbarian vs. Larry Stephens (12/9/87)

Squash and a promo afterwards.

Mike Rotundo vs. Italian Stallion (12/9/87)

The slow heel turn continues as Sullivan is on commentary since he is giving Rotundo advice. Decent little TV match.

Larry Zbyszko vs. Tony Suber (12/9/87)

Squash.

Flair is out next for a promo talking about how he like Santa Claus giving presents then buries Michael Hayes.

Luger comes out next for another strong promo.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin & Michael "PS" Hayes vs. The Gladiators (12/9/87)

Easy win.

Ricky Morton & Sting vs. John Savage & Curtis Thompson (12/9/87)

Gibson was hurt in a Bunkhouse Stampede so Sting is teaming with Morton here.

Jim Crockett comes out and says that he hopes that Dusty will not retire and gives the Super Powers a US Tag Titles shot the next week.

The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. The Thunderfeet (Joel Deaton & Gene Ligon) (12/9/87)

Annihilation and a promo afterwards featuring Paul Jones coming out saying that his guys are stronger than the Roadies and wants to have a strength competition.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Denny Brown & Kendall Windham (12/9/87)

Arn hit an awesome short clothesline on Denny as he had Tully in an O'Connor Roll that made this match.

Horsemen are out in full next for a promo and this is fun as Flair again runs down Hayes who comes out wanting a piece of Flair. It ends up being a beatdown of course until the Garvins run out to make the save. Hayes then cuts a fun promo as well with a hot crowd. Extra material.

NWA Pro Wrestling 12/26/87

#1 Contenders Match for the NWA World Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) (12/8/87)

Sheeps go on offense early and often on Gibson then Morton as the RnR don't get much offense in. RnR make a comeback though and they start working over Luke's left leg. Morton would get isolated and the match starts to take a regular tone now as he works FIP. Morton takes some good punishment before he gets the hot tag then Johnny Ace runs in using the flagpole for the DQ.

Next we get a promo from the Garvins & Hayes talking about their issues with the MX & Horsemen.

Dusty Rhodes is out next talking about the Bunkhouse Stampedes and talks about retirement but he still has it left in him and he will defend his US Title against anyone in 1988.

Sting vs. Gene Miller (12/8/87)

Another strong win for Sting.

Lex Luger is out for another promo talking about his fight with the Horsemen.

"Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Keith Steinborn (12/8/87)

Easy win for Doc and he cuts a promo afterwards talking about winning some Stampedes.

Ric Flair is with Bob Caudle next for a promo about Luger, Garvin, & Hayes.

Larry Zbyszko vs. Ed Franks (12/8/87)

Zbyszko wins in seconds and calls out Windham & Dusty afterwards.
