Posted February 27, 20169 yr comment_5729632 Finish of Tully/Dusty EXTRA Arn vs Garvin I'll go low end nomination. This was a hard hit tub match. Both guys looked good. Post match angle puts it over . Flair vs Morton This is an impromptau match at the studio. This was a match where Flair makes Morton look like he can beat him for the title. Everything Flair tried, Morton had the answer for. It went about 10 minutes and a commercial. Both men had seconds to add to the drama. The last couple of minutes the timing seemedoff but it didn't hurt the bout. We get a ref bump and some visual pin falls on Flair. Finally Arn comes as does Gibson and we get double drop kick and Gibson counts the 3. This was a real fun match. NWA TV 85-86 Disc 2 Arn vs Manny I really appreciate that Manny work's Arn leg and switches it up from the last match. Manny's keg work was tight and with purpose. I marked out hard for when Arn was escaping Manny would throw chops at him to try to get him to stop. I liked how Manny would grind on Arn's leg. I liked Arn's attempted comeback that Manny would stop with a kick or a sweep to the leg. Eventually Arn would gain control . I liked at 1st he sold the damage to the leg, but eventually he shit canned it. Now with Arn on top just tearing apart the arm was great. Manny sold it big, and having Ole there added to the drama. We get a strong post match with a strong money drawing angle to follow with Thunderbolt and Manny in tags with the Anderson's , and the eventual singles bout with Ole and Bolt. This is a solid to easy nomination. Tully vs Ron Garvin JIP This match was awesome. They worked at a great pace, and told a compelling story. Garvin had an injured hand thanks to the 4 Horsemen. Every time Garvin would be making momentum he would hurt the hand and the tides would turn. Tully was his usual dick self, but had a real mean streak here. Finally Garvin begins working over the leg. This was awesome. The work on Tully's leg was great. We get some more battles down the stretch. The finish is pretty great. JJ gives Tully a load of quarters, while Dusty tapes up Ronnie's hand. Ronnie strikes 1st and gets the win. Man this was some choice stuff. NWA TV 85-86 Disc 2 Wahoo/Sam Houston vs Tully/Jimmy Garvin Wahoo shines early. Some nice stooging from the heels early. Wahoo works Tully's arm early. Garvin in Wahoo knocks him on his ass. Tully trips up Wahoo and Garvin works him over. Wahoo tags to Houston who is a ball of fire, until he gets cut off. Tag to Wahoo and it's chop city. Until he gets cut off and they get heat on him. Tully busted Wahoo open. Houston in and he gets cut off quickly. This was solid stuff. Too much heel control. Both faces had 2 FIP segments. I'm on the fence, but will lean no. Andersons vs Mulkeys EXTRA Flair/Hawk Angle EXTRA Ronnie Garvin vs Black Bart Bart focuses on the arm. Garvin fires back with a lot of fire.I'm loving Bart's psychology here. Garvin shows so much fire. This is a pretty great fight. Garvin steals a win. A little on the short side, but I'll go low end nomination. Midnight Express vs Road Warriors The MX are shining up the Warriors early. Eaton and Condrey are just human tackling dummies. Crowd is going nuts for the Warriors. Hawk missed a flying clothesline to set up the heat. Tennis Racket shot by Condrey. Condrey working the back. The MX are full of cheapshots here. Hot tag to Animal. He's running a gauntlet of moves. Baby Doll KO's Cornette. EXTRA for the finish Garvin/Tully highlights Rock n Roll Express vs Andersons Anderson's cut the ring in 1/2. Gibson is getting mugged. Morton full of fire. Gibson in and is on fire. Double Figure 4. This is just a fight between teams who don't like one another. DQ finish. Just not enough time to warrant a nomination. h
