Steven and Parv are back to discuss four more great matches from 90s All Japan:

07/09/96 - Mitsuharu Misawa & Jun Akiyama vs Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue
07/24/96 - Kenta Kobashi vs Akira Taue
09/05/96 - Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi
09/05/96 - Mitsuharu Misawa & Jun Akiyama vs Steve Williams & Johnny Ace

Two thoughts while watching:

1. I think the TC lineage may be tougher because you are skipping a lot of those title changes that seemingly were kind of disappointing compared to the other AJ stuff in the 1990s. Stuff like Kawada's win, Hansen beating him, Misawa beating Hansen, and Taue beating Hansen.

2. I think the lariat for the 9/5/96 match is sufficient because as you will see going forward, the lariat for Kobashi becomes almost equal to Misawa's elbows. It really becomes one of his main go to finishers for 98 and 99 with the Burning Hammer being brought out for only special occasions.

I agree with #2, and it also worked for me because of the way Hansen sold the Lariat *before* Kobashi hit it--there was something very poetic about Hansen having to dive and duck and desperately try to avoid Kobashi's arm the way Kobashi had to do with him all those previous years.
