World Championship Wrestling 3/1/86

The show starts with Ronnie Garvin coming out talking about his chance at Arn Anderson later for the NWA World TV Title and that he is going to give it all he's got.

"Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Bob Owens (3/1/86)

Valiant opened a lot of shows in this time period and it was squash city. Valiant then cut a fun promo afterwards and he is back feuding with Paul Jones again after many months from being away from him.

RnR Express come out next for a promo with their tennis racquets which they say that they would use to get their revenge on the MX. Morton then talks about Ric Flair saying that he wanted to slap him in the face and that build is starting up.

Baron Von Raschke vs. George South (3/1/86)

George is pesky here and gives Baron a fight but Raschke is just too much for him with Paul Jones giving a helping hand also.

Arn comes out next and said that he doesn't want to face Garvin but he signed the contract so he has got to do it. Arn calling Garvin the "Charles Manson" of wrestling is funny.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Rocky King (3/1/86)

Nikita is wearing a nice sweater at ringside as Ivan battles King who gives Ivan a fight before losing in the end.

Next we get a promo from Tully & Dillon who is wearing snakeskin shoes which JJ said cost more than Tony's whole suit. Tully then talks about having one more week to win the National Title and he would get it done.

The Barbarian vs. Tony Zane (3/1/86)

Barbarian manhandles the big man here and Paul Jones gets a lot of shots in as well.

Ivan & Nikita are out next for a promo talking about the Roadies, America's Team, & Crockett Cup.

Magnum TA vs. Randy Mulkey (3/1/86)

Magnum makes very short work of Mulkey here.

Ric Flair is out next in his full gear and robe as he is wrestling on TV today and he cuts a great promo on the usual subjects. Extra material.

Tully Blanchard vs. Bill Tabb (3/1/86)

This is funny....Tully just mauled Tabb and used the Slingshot Suplex early during the break so when they came back he had to do it again which Tony & David tried to cover up for it.

Dusty & Baby Doll are out next for a promo where somebody yells at Dusty that they didn't want to hear it with Dusty firing back saying "Get your ass out of here if you don't want to hear it." That is hilarious.....extra material.

Cornette comes out next saying that the RnR Express have loaded racquets and that the MX will take care of the RnR & Dusty.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Paul Garner & Alan Martin (3/1/86)

Eaton is just a machine here hitting a big neckbreaker on the floor on Martin. Very fun squash.

Tony & David announce next that New Orleans and the Superdome will be the home of the Crockett Cup in April.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Bill Mulkey & Mike Simani (3/1/86)

RnR have no issues here.

Magnum is out next and he said that is tired of Nikita's BS and he wants to settle this issue soon.

NWA World TV Title: Arn Anderson © vs. "Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin (3/1/86)

Some really good back and forth wrestling to start here and then Garvin starts stretching and twisting Arn which was great. Flair would come out as Ronnie is torturing Arn and said that there was no way Arn would lose this match. Arn would soon recover and the action picks up as both men try to finish the other one off but Arn remembered that time was on his side and he would stall when he could to save time. Garvin would get Arn in an abdominal stretch right as the bell rang for the draw and then Flair baited Garvin so Arn could attack him from behind and drop him with the Gourdbuster. This was a damn good match and a fairly easy nomination.

Paul Jones & Baron Von Raschke came out next for a promo where they run down Valiant.

RnR are back out for a promo talking about Cornette's whining and Flair who walks out right in front of Morton as he goes to the ring.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Brodie Chase (3/1/86)

Flair puts Chase away easily then runs over to Tony & David so he could talk shit before leaving.

Cornette comes back out whining about the RnR as time runs out.
