Man, that Renee/Natalya segment was some hilariously shameless Subway product placement. OTOH, at least they didn't do some lame, unfunny skit like they've done in the past.

The best random backstage product placement segment was the one with Mark Henry, Torito & JBL for some new burger at Hardee's/Carl's JR.

The camera staying too long on Taker to show him awkwardly standing with his back turned after his music stopped and Vince had resumed talking was sad. Dude should have just kept walking, grabbed his check and a to-go sandwich from catering, and made haste in his haunted Chevy Silverado.

I feel like someone saw the Political Hit thread and thought the poll looked too close and they just REALLY wanted to make it obvious.

Man did they go overboard with jobber intros (aka, "Already in the Ring" intros) tonight. And some of the things they gave time to. Poor time allocation.

This is confusing. The crowds are 110% behind Dean Ambrose, so he is pushed accordingly as the second top babyface and as a never back down character. The crowds are split on Roman Reigns, and so he is pushed as the top babyface and has a questionable character when it comes to dealing with hard times ( resting outside the ring in RR 2015, limping to the back during RR 2016 while the heel KO limps to the ring to fight, etc.).

 

Just really weird...

I must have seen the exact same Sasha-Becky-Charlotte segment like, 5 weeks in a row. At least they are trying to get the women over, I guess.

And then they did that weird Naomi/Brie deal where no one got an entrance, but Lana gets hers at the end just to laugh at Brie. At least Sasha/Becky is more fun to watch than that neverending series with Titus/Stardust.

so is this a direct to DVD thing or a full on theatrical release? My wife really likes the first one and I thought it was fun. It was a full-fledged theatrical animated movie so it's kind of surreal seeing the sequel tied to WWE which is kind of slumming it in a way.

If i were being snarky I would say at least kids like Cena whereas no one likes Reigns, but I'm not so I won't.

The production on these "out of house" type of things starts long in advance. CM Punk was in some of their cartoon stuff and by the time they were released he was already out of the company.

Brodus Clay was one of the featured guys in the WWE Scooby Doo movie, and by the time it was released he was in the middle of his last two televised matches in the company, both of which took place on NXT.

The point is that they usually don't feature people from their roster on a lot of promotional stuff outside of Cena and maybe Orton.

 

You're much more likely to see The Rock on a 7-11 cup than New Day.

 

You're much more likely to see Shawn Michaels on a video game cover than Roman Reigns.
