We have Barry vs Tully

  • This was a strong match. It was a good give and take match throughout. Their were nuances throughout the match. Tully was his typical prick self. Windham saved his hot moves down the stretch for a fun finish. Windham was throwing hands throughout the match. Dillon on commentary was pretty great on it.The false finishes were done well.

Luger vs Dusty

We see Dusty go after the leg early. Dusty's charisma is off the charts here. Luger would focus on the arm,and eventually the back. Dusty had a spring to his step too. We get a Dusty finish. A good bout that deserves a solid nomination.

This has more stuff I've already seen.

US Heavyweight Title: "Total Package" Lex Luger © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (8/2/87)

Dusty is dominant early using his experience to his advantage working over Luger and getting the crowd all riled up. Dusty worked over Luger's leg but Luger caught him with a clothesline that sent Dusty to the floor. Luger then dropped Dusty on the railing and started working over his left arm. Luger then went to work on Dusty's back with a bearhug trying to weaken him. Dusty would fight back backdropping Luger over the top rope on Teddy Long who had already been bumped to the floor. Dusty would roll under a Luger cross body block to get a pinfall which Tommy Young counted but Teddy would tell Tommy what happened as all the babyfaces celebrated with Dusty. Luger & Dillon end up leaving with the belt. This was a good match but I'm not as high as Pete was on it. This feels more like a low-end nomination.
