March 5, 20178 yr comment_5790442 US Heavyweight Title: "Total Package" Lex Luger © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (8/2/87)Dusty is dominant early using his experience to his advantage working over Luger and getting the crowd all riled up. Dusty worked over Luger's leg but Luger caught him with a clothesline that sent Dusty to the floor. Luger then dropped Dusty on the railing and started working over his left arm. Luger then went to work on Dusty's back with a bearhug trying to weaken him. Dusty would fight back backdropping Luger over the top rope on Teddy Long who had already been bumped to the floor. Dusty would roll under a Luger cross body block to get a pinfall which Tommy Young counted but Teddy would tell Tommy what happened as all the babyfaces celebrated with Dusty. Luger & Dillon end up leaving with the belt. This was a good match but I'm not as high as Pete was on it. This feels more like a low-end nomination.
