Posted December 16, 200519 yr comment_4143729 If yo uaren't aware, Ron Artest requested to be traded this week. Personally, for all of the crap that he has put the team through and for all the spinning the Pacers have done to try and boost his public image, artest continues to reaffirm his status as a whack job. If I was a guy like Steven Jackson or Jermaine O'Neal, I would be pissed for sticking up for this guy, losing cash and sittign out parts of last season while "defending" him when it is clear this guy does not give a shit about any of them. Anyone else have any takes?
December 16, 200519 yr comment_4144224 I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. I've been one of the ones defending him throughout all of this, and this was the last straw for me, too. Time to take out the trash, I say. And Jackson was at least as much at fault in the brawl as Artest was, so I don't really care what he thinks either way.

December 18, 200519 yr comment_4160007 Well, if the Pacers do still decide to get rid of him, they shouldn't trade him to an Eastern Conference team.
December 19, 200519 yr comment_4164569 I hope he stays. Him and O'Neal make that team special and I doubt that they can trade him for someone of his quality. There aren't many perimeter players that give you what he gives.
December 31, 200519 yr comment_4229215 Artest's a piece of shit, plain and simple... Trying to be the new "Rodman" he isn't half the badass or player that Dennis was (and NO, I'm NOT kidding) I wish the fucker would just burn out, and go the way of the Worm...
December 31, 200519 yr Author comment_4231110 I hope he stays. Him and O'Neal make that team special and I doubt that they can trade him for someone of his quality. There aren't many perimeter players that give you what he gives. Read Alfdogg's post in the NBA thread. O'Neal is already on record saying he will refuse to play with Artest again.
January 24, 200619 yr comment_4379095 I really want to know what else they passed up for this. Not only is Stojakovic half the player Artest is - he can't create his own shot, can't defend for shit, consumate choke artist, can't pass, etc. - but he's a free agent after this season. Unbelievable. At least if they had traded for Maggette they'd get a scorer/decent defender who'd be around for the next 3-4 years (despite his foot being injured right now). They can officially kiss being contenders goodbye.
January 24, 200619 yr comment_4379288 Yeah this decision is bad unless they really want to free up cap space that bad. If they wanted a player then I would've traded for Odom or someone else.
January 24, 200619 yr Author comment_4379504 ESPN reported that Artest let it be known he would not be happy in Sacramento so the trade is off.
January 25, 200619 yr comment_4379629 ESPN reported that Artest let it be known he would not be happy in Sacramento so the trade is off. When the hell do they get to decide where they go if they're under contract?
January 25, 200619 yr Author comment_4379768 He doesn't. However by saying he will not cooperate in Sacramento, the Kings withdrew the offer. ESPN speculates that the Pacers will suspend him without pay.
January 25, 200619 yr comment_4379789 I feel Sac HAS to deal Peja now, regardless of this deal. Not sure what they could get for him, but he can't stay now, his already fragile psyche is probrably in pieces after this. Artest may have actually saved the Kings franchise in a way, but you won't see it until later when Artest ends up in jail or kicked out of the league or something.
January 25, 200619 yr comment_4385214 Artest has now been swayed and agrees to the deal. Yes, this isn't really a joke on my part
January 25, 200619 yr comment_4385886 I am going to Artest's potential first Kings home game next tuesday vs. the Nuggets. I'll come here with a full report next tuesday.
January 26, 200619 yr comment_4387416 So he is getting traded, eh? Awesome. My trade for Artest in the fantasy league FINALLY pays off. ...now if I could only remember to set my lineups everyday from here on out, I might even make the playoffs.
