Posted March 18, 20169 yr comment_5734200 This was the first WCW taping by JCP outside of Techwood Studios and it was at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tony brings out Jim Crockett who talks about how great the Bashes has been so far and then Tony brings out Jim Cornette who is announcing with him on the show. The Warlord vs. Gene Ligon (7/6/86)Warlord kills Ligon in less than a minute.Cornette interviews Flair next who is glad that Cornette is part of the announce team and then he talks about facing Dusty for the NWA Title at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville that night.Cornette would then interview the Horsemen all together where Ole promises to retire Dusty, Tully promises to destroy all of the babyfaces, Arn talks some shit, & Flair closes it out proper. Extra material."Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Rocky King (7/6/86)Rocky puts up a really good fight here getting a really decent amount of offense on Ivan. I mean I was shocked at how competitive this was and Ivan got what looked like a desperate pinfall. Interesting segment.Next we get clips of Valiant beating Shaska and shaving his head from Charlotte on 7/5."Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Black Bart (7/6/86)A year earlier these two had a fun feud for the National Heavyweight Title now Bart has the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title and is basically treated like a low midcarder. Bart worked over Garvin's right hand early on but Garvin would gain the advantage and started stretching Bart a little. We come back from break and Bart was working over Garvin now but Garvin makes a comeback as Tully & Dillon show up at ringside. Bart tried to pin Garvin using the ropes but Tommy Young saw it and refused to count him out. Garvin though in a slick move would take out Bart's legs and he used the ropes to pin him with Young not seeing it and the fans went nuts. Cute finish to a fine match.Dusty & Baby Doll are out next with Dusty wondering where Cornette went before focusing his attention on Flair where he said that he was going to win the NWA Title. Dusty then calls Ole and old man told him to bring it on.Teijho Khan vs. Mark Fleming (7/6/86)Khan wins easily.Cornette then cuts a promo saying that no one would beat the MX or him on the rest of the Bash tour.RnR cut a promo next talking about coming for the Horsemen & MX on the of the Bash tour.National Heavyweight Title: Tully Blanchard © vs. Chief Wahoo McDaniel (7/6/86) This is a cool match for TV. Wahoo starts off strong just lighting up Tully with chops and continues the barrage for the early part of the match. I did like how Tony mentioned that these men were once partners 2 years earlier. Tully would hit a desperation knee to the head and that gave him the chance to work over Wahoo. Tully would try the Slingshot Suplex but Wahoo countered with a suplex of his own and had Tully in trouble before he dipped to the floor to rest. Wahoo would drop down to chase Tully who caught him with a blindside shot and then he would post Wahoo for good measure. Tully now goes back to work on Wahoo using the ropes for leverage before Wahoo fires up for a comeback where he had Tully pinned but Dillon put his foot on the rope. Dillon then handed Tully something which he used to KO Wahoo and as he went to pin him, Ronnie Garvin ran out and told Tommy what happened and he found the object then called for the DQ. Garvin got jumped after the match and Tully dropped him with the Slingshot Suplex. Screwy finish but a good enough match to be on the block as a low-end nomination.Cornette interviews Ivan & Nikita next about the Best of 7 series and Nikita said that all he needs is one more win and then he is the US Champ.Sam Houston vs. George South (7/6/86)Good spotlight match for both men here as they got to work a competitive match.NWA World Tag Titles: The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) © vs. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (7/6/86)Another great match for TV here. Roadies just frustrate the hell out of the MX early on as they dominate them beating them from pillar to post as the crowd goes nuts. Hawk would miss a diving clothesline from the middle rope and then crashed to the floor where Condrey whacked him with the tennis racquet so now the MX finally have something going on. This doesn't last long though as Animal gets the hot tag and he runs wild on the MX until we get the 4-way brawl. Cornette would hit Animal in the back with the racquet prompting the DQ and then Baby Doll ran out to attack Cornette on the floor before leaving as the crowd went batshit. This was a really fun segment and extra material.Baby Doll then joins the Roadies & Ellering for a promo afterwards gloating about what just happened.Next we get a great angry Cornette promo talking about the Baby Doll deal and all of this is extra material.Bunkhouse Match: "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes & The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) (7/6/86)Holy shit we got about 3 minutes of this and it is so fucking awesome as the crowd was fucking insane for everything. Man I wish this whole match would get released.
