Regal said that he would defend his title against anyone at anytime."Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Gene Ligon (8/3/86)Ligon falls prey to the Russian Sickle fairly quickly.Bull & Valiant are out next talking about Valiant getting his head shaved and Valiant is pissed that Paul Jones wants to buy Manny. Bull again says that money doesn't buy him and he would be Valiant's friend forever.RnR are out next talking about the Andersons hurting Gibson the week before but it won't stop them from winning their NWA World Tag Titles back.Baron Von Raschke & Shaska Whaley vs. Rocky Kernodle & Rocky King (8/3/86)The Rocky's have no chance here and are destroyed.Next we get Johnny Weaver interviewing Dusty Rhodes in a locker room about being the NWA Champ and this is good stuff. Cornette is all pumped up now because he thinks Dusty wasn't in the building and he demanded an apology. Extra material.The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole & Arn Anderson) vs. Bill & Randy Mulkey (8/3/86)Mulkeymania is manhandled throughout this match.Then we get promos from Arn (who talks about Magnum's nice new Porsche he just purchased) & Cornette for the 8/13 show in Raleigh.Cornette then interviews the Kansas Jayhawks where they want a shot at the MX in the worst way and give him an open challenge."Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Italian Stallion (8/3/86)Cornette mentioning George Barnes on commentary was fantastic. Stallion got some shine early but was tossed to the floor where Dundee jumped him. Landell then puts him away with the Corkscrew Elbow afterwards.Flair comes out next with Cornette and he talks about how he would be champion soon enough and that Dusty's days were numbered.Nikita & Krusher then are interviewed by Cornette and they are coming for Dusty as well.Tully Blanchard vs. Todd Champion (8/3/86)Champion works over Tully's left arm early and has Tully flustered but the National Champ makes a comeback and would eventually get the Slingshot Suplex to win.Cornette then interviews Budro next who said that he is the real Nature Boy not Flair and he wants the NWA Title."Superstar" Bill Dundee vs. Mike Simani (8/3/86)Dundee's TV wrestling debut and he just rips up Simani.Next we get promos from Magnum & RnR for the 8/13 show in Raleigh.Magnum is with Caudle next and he is ready to get his US Title back from Nikita very soon.The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell) vs. Vernon Deaton & Mark Fleming (8/3/86)Jayhawks are impressive here.Ronnie Garvin & Wahoo are out next and they said that they want some belts now any belts especially Tully's.NWA Pro Wrestling 8/16/86"Superstar" Bill Dundee vs. Italian Stallion (8/10/86)This is JIP and the TV is being taped in Asheville, NC at the Civic Center which isn't a normal TV taping spot so it looks like a house show which is what it was. Stallion gets some offense with Dundee taking an insane bump from the ring to the floor but Dundee prevails in the end.Cornette & Bubba are with Caudle and Cornette is laughing his ass off because Flair beat Dusty for the NWA Title on 8/9 in St. Louis and now Dusty must answer to Bubba for everything he has done the past few months.Tony joins Caudle and they talk about how Dusty lost the NWA Title and blamed the injury he suffered in Kansas City two days earlier for the reason he lost the title. Then we get clips of the title change in St. Louis with Flair coming out for a promo back with his belt and he said that everything is back to normal with the Horsemen ruling the world. Slam dunk extra.Next we get promos from Paul Jones & Cornette for the 8/18 show in Fayetteville.Valiant is out next and said that he is now in secret training for taking Paul Jones' hair."Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. Rocky King (8/10/86)Easy win for Budro.Tully & Dillon then are out with Cornette laughing about Dusty losing the title and said that he had a good run.The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. The Kansas Jayhawks (Bobby Jaggers & Dutch Mantell)Jayhawks look strong early on as they use quick tags to neutralize the MX but a poke to the eyes by Eaton gave the MX the chance they needed to take over. We go to a break and come back where Dutch is being worked over by the MX now but he would soon get the hot tag to Jaggers who ran wild before the 4-way brawl started up. We get some really good back and forth action until the bell rang for the 20:00 draw. We got a little over half of the match and it was fun but we missed too much.Then we get promos from the RnR for the 8/18 show in Fayetteville.
